You don’t think Florida qualifies as East Coast??

You can add classic sires to the list, he’s based out of CA.

ETA, oops, he’s already listed!

What about NC and NH? Why was Florida singled out? Just curious? Know anyone on the east coast that carries celle stallions?

I would think Florida was singled out because you asked for EAST coast distributers and Yancey Farms is in Florida…hence an East Coast distributer. Judy carries many stallions!

We used to carry more stallions, but still have some, and we are in Eastern Canada.

Merijane Malouin and Katie Kuhn are in SoCal and have an inventory of Dutch stallions.

Newsbreak: And so are Majestic Gaits (NH) and Westphalians for USA.

I also said “all breeds”. Judy represents some nice stallions but her list doesn’t have the same inventory as what the west coast suppliers have. Since those distributors say: “west coast supplier”, who is the east coast supplier? Celle specifically but there are others who I can’t find an east coast supplier for.

Frozen semen agents cover the continent easily. I have used Superior Equines and have great reports of A1 and Classic Sires for the stallions that Yancy does not cover (mainly Celle). And, obviously, I am on the east coast.

Yea… true… It’s not a matter of if you can ship (and receive) a package in viable condition, it’s about the $$ it takes to get it there.

Shipping expenses ARE cheaper the shorter the distance a package has to travel. I’ve shipped many packages and shipping from east (where I am) to say…Washington state is more expensive than shipping the same package to say… Alabama.

The point is: The sites say: “West coast distributor”. If there is an “East coast distributor”, shipping from them would be less expensive than shpping all the way from the west coast.

Had the sites not said “west coast distributor/supplier” I’d have never brought this up.

Yes, but if you order early, you can ship the semen ground! it’s one of the big advantages of frozen semen!! Early well in advance of need and have the stuff shipped out ground, although now we’re starting to get into the breeding season and people are starting to order more and more frozen semen.

We have quite a large inventory of frozen semen on a variety of breeds, but you deal directly with the stallion owner and the stallions are mostly domestic.

Hope that helps!

True. I’ll add you to the list.

I was hoping there was one in Atlanta… and I could just go pick it up and save shipping costs all together. (wishful thinking I know, but you never know unless you ask the question, and since they said…west coast, it sort of implied there was an east coast)

You asked why Florida was singled out…I only answered that part of your question:)

Any other suppliers that need to be added?

We use Select Breeders Services in Colora, MD for collections, freezing, semen import and export. SBS has a network of affiliated labs around the US & the rest of the world - www.selectbreeders.com

Select Breeders added

Note that deadlines are coming up for some of these distributors.

Superior Equine Sires

Superior Equine has the best selection, by far the best prices and the owner Carol Austin is VERY knowledgeable about all the stallions she carries. She will actually spend the time to help you pick a stallion that is right for your mare if you are not sure about it. I can not recommend her highly enough!
