List of Frozen Semen distributors:

Mariposa Sport Horses - www.mariposasporthorses.com

They’re a frozen semen Co-Op - where all the breeders can get the semen at cost, no markup and shared shipping. Although, I guess they’re in the west, but when you can get semen at cost, the shipping across the country is worth it.

Does anyone know off hand if Angela Barilar is still carrying Hofrat frozen semen? She’s the only person I know of who has/had any.

If you find out let us know.

I emailed Hengststation Meyershof, and if Hofrat is not available through Angela, he should be available via superiorequinesires.com this season.

I also found out from the Meyershof website that they are standing the Trakehner stallion, Axis ( EH Sixtus x EH Angard) in 2010. I’m guessing that Meyershof will be more likely to “get it together” and offer Axis frozen, as I’ve been looking for his frozen now for over a year.

I truly love both of these stallions (Hofrat and Axis), and am very excited about using them in my breeding program…

Conte Canturo-Corrado ordering a shipment at cost

Full brother to Canturada owned by owner of Olympian Canturo. Stamm 776. They are out of one of Acorado’s breeder’s best mares. He is winning in young horse classes. Located in Italy and owned by Borgo della Caccia who own many top Holsteiner stallions including Contefino, Quite Capitol and Quick Nick. We are putting together a group to import frozen semen from this rising jumper star with incredible bloodlines. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYB67Kb_sDQ&feature=channel He is being frozen right now for export to US to buying group only.

Hochstern

Anyone know who carries his semen?

bump since it’s time to order or start thinking about ordering semen.

It would be nice to have a one stop shop for “order by” dates.

I think I know who I’m going to buy, but I reserve the right to change my mind 100 more times before I tell. LOL

Keswick Equine Clinice carries Team Nijhof frozen semen. These are Dutch Warmbloods including: Voltaire, Concorde, Clinton, Lord Z, Florencio, Sandreo and Verdi. www.keswickequineclinic.com

Who are the frozen semen brokers in North America?

And what are your experiences with them?

These are the ones I know about

Judy Yancey - http://www.yancey-farms.com/gallery.html

A1 Performance - http://a-1performancesires.com/

Mountain Creek - http://www.mountaincreeksporthorses.com/

Frozen Stallions - http://frozenstallions.com/index.php

There must be others that we can list as well!

Judy and Anne have been great to work with as has Elisha. I have never heard of Frozen Stallions before so dont know how they are to work with. But between the lot of them they seem to have a fabulous assortment of stallions available for us North American breeders!

Carol @ Superior Equine Sires is another

http://www.superiorequinesires.com/

I’ve worked with her and Judy and Ann and had good experiences with all of them.

I’ve ordered from Rideauwood Semen Imports in Ontario for the last 3 years and everything has gone seemlessly.

Working with Carol Austin at Superior Equine Sires was a very easy, positive experience.

I used Superior Equine Sires this year and all went smoothly…

Mariposa Sport Horses…

http://mariposasporthorses.com/

We offer our past and present stallions as well as represent Dressage Royal in North America. All orders are handled through Select Breeders Services, where everything is stored and inventoried.

I’ve used some of the mentioned brokers, one of which had less than stellar customer service/attitude/people skills, and another was fantastic (Carol from Superior Equine Sires). Carol is so nice to talk to, and very informative and a great business person.

EMCO

We could not say enough good things about EMCO. They have been wonderful to work with! They have some very nice event stallions from GB. :)This is their website although it seems to be down right now:

I have used a number of the brokers mentioned here. Rideauwood stood out as being very good to deal with, even when things didn’t go exactly as planned (no fault of Doug’s) and SES was also good to deal with. Both brokers were very professional and seemed to understand the concept of customer service.

Rideauwood! Doug is wonderful and great to work with.
