Live XC - Who is watching?
Anyone see what happened to Tim Lips? I saw his 6th fence and then headed over to the finish line to watch his last few fences and then I heard he fell. :(
They didn’t show it live on FEI tv, but there was someone around that time who fell in one of the water combinations, landed hard on his rear. I think everyone’s gotten up ok, either way.

Too bad, his horse was going really well for him during what they did show.

Anyone know if there is a course diagram online anywhere?
That attempted bounce by the swedish rider =

ETA: Fence 8 in general… yikes!

Can I say SHITE on an american website??? First the most experienced Swedish rider don´t get through the water… eliminated …then another In 6th place after dressage and normally VERY good in the XC looses his cool and tries to make up time where you can´t and in the end the last tries to jump the stonewall like some kind of bounce…??.. eliminated…

An don´t get me started on the dressageteam…aaaargh… we´re lucky there´s a man called RGB doing showjumping…

NOONE that knows how Becky Holden does Showjumping? Can we expect a clear round or 4 down or what??

No guarantees of a clear round there, I think, but not an impossibility either!

Whew! I’ve watched every ride. Sooo disappointed that Tina Cook couldn’t hold Miner’s Frolic. I swear, I saw that coming, same with Lips and Buck, too (and quite a few from the less experienced countries). Even Frank Ostholt’s problems you could tell were coming, wouldn’t you say?

BTW, anyone have any theories about that corner of walls at the wishing well? It’s pretty odd.

Yes, interesting, it didn’t cause many problems this morning. 3 recent riders have taken a similar approach way to the right. The Australian horse fell, the Italian horse pulled it off, and Geoff Curran either made an adj on takeoff when he saw their position, or his horse did and saved their bacon! Wondering why those approaches are all going so far to the right now?

They all seem to be cutting as close to it as they can to make that right turn… it’s scary what they’re doing though!

whats going on with the hold up? who got hurt and which fence is supposedly ‘broken’??

i just got on a FREE live streaming site… woot woot! watching this guy being held up on course forever!

what a sh*tty deal… that’d completely blow your chi midway through course  lets see how he deals with it!

Comet’s SJ has been good lately. A few years ago they headed into day 3 in 1st at Rolex and had some pressure rails, but he’s been going well.

You can see his results here: http://useventing.com/competitions.php?id=831&horse_id=21094

Really rooting for those two tomorrow, too. Woohoo Comet!

Playing La-Z-Boy jockey here with a cat on my lap, I agree on Lips and Buck. Buck was really struggling to get a rhythm (or something? communication issues?), and Tim Lips’ horse was going well for him, despite some problems for the rider. I saw him be dead honest when Tim wasn’t quite there but the horse knew his job.

Tina seemed to be struggling a little, too. I didn’t see enough of Frank’s ride to say either way.

There have been a lot of beautiful rides, though. Stefan, WFP, Becky come to mind. Ingrid Klimke was nice, too. Not perfect, but she just seems to exude confidence for her horse’s benefit. Karen O and Mandiba for sure stepped up to the plate when they really needed to. Karin Donckers went well for the most part, too, despite the hold.

Rotten luck for Capt Curran… veeeery long hold on course because of Italian rider and horse injury.

Maybe they are feeling pressure on time since so many have made it double clear?

The hold is from a fall at 20, the Abe Lincoln house.

Any word on what’s going on with the horse/rider causing the hold on course? Hoping everyone is okay.

I’m confused about the hold. It sounded, from the Universal feed, like they were repairing the fence, but I just heard “Ginny” (Elliot?) is “with” the rider, Curran. What does that mean? Is he injured?

Can someone explain to me how England is “guaranteed” to go into show jumping in gold medal position when the US is only about 10 points behind and if Phillip Dutton goes clean, we can drop Buck Davidson’s score which includes a 20 point stop?

Wouldn’t that then put us 10 points below the Brits?

There is something I am not understanding here.

Curran (the Irish rider) is being held on course - I think for the Italian rider’s fall… but FEI TV hasn’t said much about why.

Juan Carlos Garcia - Veterinarian is working on his horse on course. Hope he’s okay.

Pwynn -

I think its both. Fixing the fence due to the horse/rider fall + Injury.

FEI tv just said they were treating the horse, not the rider, but I don’t know if that’s official. I hope they are both ok. I was so happy the day was going so well without any major problems like that.
