This is a really long hold. Is anyone other then Jump Jet stuck on course?
Just heard the announcer say in the background over the PA system the horse was being transported to the vet clinic.

Just Geoff/Jet.
Dutton was in starting box.
World’s longest hold… awful luck for Curran.
Italian horse in in the trailer, heading to vet clinic.
and there off again… finally.
C’mon Geoff/Jet!!

BTW, anyone have any theories about that corner of walls at the wishing well? It’s pretty odd.
I course walked and stood there and stared at it for too long and could not figure it out. Very wide and scary to me. The little space you could jump across just did not look like a good idea to me.
Injured horse is bleeding from a forearm, per someone I know who is there now. Rider is okay.
Go Stephanie and Ollie! Such a nice girl! And I always admire Karen’s focus! Cool to be able to watch it live!
Crossing my fingers for the horse!

Italian horse. has been taken to vet clinic. Gash on shoulder.
Here is my 5’7" self standing under the downed log trakehner. I have utmost respect for event riders who would jump this.

Ha, I love the FEI tv comment, “Kyle Carter appears to have gone through a hedge” and then I saw the brush sticking off his right arm,
Rhodes-Bosch is in huge company, she must be having the night of her life right now!
Nereo has fascinating hind end action.
Nicholson shaved like 10 secs off the time!! Those Kiwis can ride.

They didn’t show it live on FEI tv, but there was someone around that time who fell in one of the water combinations, landed hard on his rear. I think everyone’s gotten up ok, either way.
Too bad, his horse was going really well for him during what they did show.
I saw him and Oncarlos walk away so I believe they are okay. He looked pissed as can be expected. He was really bummed (according to dutch video & his twitter) after dressage because his horse kept flipping his tongue out of his mouth. He really wanted to do well. Though he is only 24 so he can be seen in the sport for some time
Bummer he was looking good at the beginning of the course.
LOVE all your pictures! What a time you must be having. Are you staying through next week, too?
Ohhh, to have been one on one with Edward Gal <3

Actually home now. I had 4 days there that I packed as full as possible. Shins were really sore from walking. Despite prior reports, most of the exercise rings (the ciricuit show rings) and the warm up ring right behind the outdoor stadium were/are accessble to spectators, so I parked myself ringside and watched the horses in the last section of the team dressage come through the warm up/make up rings before their tests. The Japanese rider was pretty nice, my photo of him was not. Ashley Holtzer (sp?) from Canada warmed up in a helmet, to the approval of many watching. Totilas looked to be a happy horse at all times, and a gentleman to handle. I especially liked the Eventing vet check/trot-up as the horses’ conformation was uniformly, awesomely athletic. Oh, and the USA team sported cowboy hats and blazers.
I believe that the “guaranteed gold medal position” was stated because even if PD went clear and fast, USA couldn’t come any closer to GBR…it was made using the prediction of a best possible result for USA.
