They didnât have a perfect round but QC Diamantaire still had plenty of jump in him.
No comment on the fall itself, but I did comment watching his approach to that combination (the A element) that I had never seen Boyd pull so hard on a horseâs face. I do wonder if the horse was tired and had a hard time catching himself when he pecked on landing on that downslope.
I did notice that downslopes played a significant part in horse falls being un-dramatic today. They would land and tumble/skid over onto their sides, but much like youâd rather land on a hill after a drop than on flat ground, it had a cushioning affect that kept the ambulances in park all day long, despite the carnage on the scoreboard. To me, thatâs where Derek shows his brilliance.

So effectively itâs pronounced the way Iâve always said âButz,â then, I guess. (Iâm from a part of Indiana that has a loooot of German-sounding last names but more of the âSh/Schâ variety (think like Schreiber, Scheidler and so on) or umpteen variants of âMeyer.â) Went to school with some kids named âButzâ who pronounced itâŠwell I canât figure out how to spell it phonetically, but it was more a short âuâ sound, like in the word âput.â
I hate that pan in from behind the car in the ring⊠makes me motion sick
