Ohhh! @vagabondrider you may have your answer above?? Thanks Jealoushe!
I LOVE IT. That looks like it but I could have sworn it was brown. You rock!! Where did you buy it, on their website?
You need to appreciate that he is a Yorkshireman. https://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/YKS/YRY/YKS/FolkTalk/Chapter9
That picture is behind the barn so might be a different bridle.
It comes in brown normally but you have to special order the black.
I bought it from Wilton tack here in Ontario. They can order in for you⊠and CND prices so probably cheaper but itâs very expensive That being said the leather is so soft, itâs the nicest bridle ever imo.
Interestingly, in the first paragraph of his recap column for the Chronicle, Kyle Carter himself (who rode and was eliminated on XC in the 4*) said that too many horses fell in the 5*. Later in the column he literally said the 4* horses were demoralized by the courseâ which is a pretty strong word to use.
That is so cool! I had no idea. Next yearâŠ
Thatâs so interesting! Thank you! I would have never guessed Schockemoehle. The quality of the leather in the jog photo looked much nicer than the Schockemoehles Iâve seen in tack stores nearby. Iâll have to have another look at their website.
My horse pulled a shoe in her pre-purchase exam It happens, in all kinds of circumstances.
I know there were a few of us, including me, that was curious about Bobbyâs saddle
It could be something else but the browband and noseband look right.
I agree on the quality, not the greatest but they do look nice.
Yes! Thanks! Stunning in this photo. I donât think I like it nearly as much in the other photo from the side.
This isnât the first rider Iâve seen doing it, but I LOL at the flair strip, with those double-noseband bridles.
I will be honest in my armchair to say I donât have the technical knowledge he has to comment on the course in this fashion, but I commend him as a pro for coming forth with his honest opinion, and itâs this type of informed criticism from pros who are still in the action that we need to make it a safer sport.
Iâm so glad he gave a shoutout to Jonelle Price. Not to keep banging on about the Prices, but I do feel that the two of them seemed in another league in terms of the sheer confidence with which they attacked the course (and the confidence their horses clearly had in their riders), even if neither were first.
Practical Horseman put this out, a series of photos of XC:
Now who can tell me what Colleen and Vermont are wearing? Looks like a Dyon Bridle?
So interesting on the USEA podcast today Duvander basically agreed Boyd was going for the time and the win and taking risks the horse jumped flat and had the fall, but he isnât worried about that for that horse and it sounds like they pretty much have a spot on the team.
So I hope people arenât mad at our convo when the Team Coach saying the same thing
JealousheâŠwhere do you see that podcast?
They exist because at the uppermost levels of competition, you can win or lose by the tiniest fraction, so any advantage is important. Now, for me, an aspiring BN rider, I have an awful lot more contributing to poor results (like my abysmal dressage skills) than my choice of bit. LOL. No bit in the world is going to make me a winner, but when you are the best, competing against the best, you can be much more particular about the tiniest details.
Itâs here:
And suppressing it, and/or being picky and cynical about it, can lose a fan base.
How would they like it if no one had any comments at all? Were they expecting nothing but praises?
At large Asian music concerts with multiple bands performing one after the other, there is a crowd behavior that is referred to as âblack oceanâ. If the crowd is not interested in a band, they donât cheer them as usual, and they put away the light sticks that they typically wave along with the music. The band is performing to what looks like a âblack oceanâ, a crowd that is silent, and from the stage appears to be a dark void.
Would the upper level riders prefer the zero support for their efforts that would be evidenced by silence and darkness on social media? Iâm guessing that a few are untaught enough to like that idea.
