To help the DQs win war
Eventer am I! 
Not very hard to
memorize test, when E can
fit it all on hand
Give you FEI
test and your brain will explode
But nothing comes out
We don’t ride drunk, you
goofuses. Though liquor is
proven to loosen
And it takes strong guts
to ride dressage in the sun
with bad hangover
No expense too great
New saddle, massage, blankets
Horse just wants fresh grass.

The DQ skip to ma loo
Eventers skip thud
A pair of foxes
one winter toyed with us
every Wednesday
For weeks, then months, and
I knew them on site; named
Silver and Vixen.
They led many a
merry chase. Then went to ground
or out of country.
The wiley coyote
pilots us on a fair chase
time and time again
Last spring a coyote
toyed with me and rolled,
stretched and yawned
When I halloed him
to our huntsman, he cocked
his head and grinned
For seven minutes
we eyed one another
waiting for the hounds
Who finally came
out of the trees to give a
merry, jolly chase
But Freedom surged
well ahead, a tri-color streak
across green grasses
The coyote paused.
They sniffed noses: kissing
cousins! A Moment.
Then the pack closed
and the coyote was a blurr
dancing amidst trees
Losing the hounds
Playing, laughing, master
of our timeless sport.
I watched in awe,
all the time galloping on,
sharing the Moment.
