Lovestruck aka Violet Joy

Juliet got her repro exam today where we discovered she is in heat right now. She has a show next weekend so we are going to give her a shot of estrumate a couple of days after the show and will drop her off at the clinic two days later. So we have a plan. Juliet thought it was an odd way to celebrate her birthday but whatever

Good luck with the show and the insemination.

So exciting! Jingles that all goes well!

We dropped Juliet off at the clinic yesterday. They are checking her every six hours but are expecting to breed her tomorrow afternoon. Please cross your fingers this all goes well, I don’t want to have to answer the question about how many tries I can afford to take.

Thinking only positive thoughts and that you won’t need to worry about more than one

Keep us posted!

And now we wait! Please jingle, pray or whatever suits your fancy that it’s a done deal and we are on our way to getting a baby Juliet on the ground! She gets flushed next Wednesday the 1st of May.

Good luck!

Best of luck!

On an unrelated note, I just sent in my entry for Devon. We are going to give that elusive blue ribbon at Devon another try, this time in the mares suitable to produce class. Juliet was briefly placed first in a giant yearling filly class at Devon. When they lined them up in order of placing after 40 minutes in the ring she had a hissy fit because she was in front so couldn’t see any of the other horses. They moved her back to second because of that and the horse they moved up went on to be best young horse so we were sooooooo close.

Laurierace, how frustrating to have that prize in your hand and then watch it hissy fit away.

Hoping this Devon turns out differently and with Juliet’s bun in a different oven by then!

:encouragement: :applause:

Jingles!!

I would like to thank everyone for their suggestions and advice. Even if it wasn’t the direction I ended up going, your help guided me to where we are today and for that I am grateful. Tomorrow we get to see if there are any fruits to our labor. Even though I have been breeding horses for decades, this is all completely new to me and I am very nervous but hopeful that we will get the first glimpse of my dream colt in microscopic form.

@Laurierace

I hope tomorrow brings you everything you hope it will!

Second step on a long road but still a huge step! Will be thinking of you tomorrow! You going to be there in person?

It’s today. We are actually here a few minutes early for our appointment and waiting for the vet.

Jingles!!! So excited for you and Juliette!

We have an embryo!

Whoot!!!

When do you confirm that it’s been implanted in the surrogate?

It was definitely implanted in the recip today. She will have her first scan on Monday to see if he is still in there somewhere.

So exciting!!

Fingers crossed for implantation.

Wrong choice of words on my part… whooops.

Implanted as in firmly in place and no longer floating around rather than just in the ‘floating around’ stage.

I am so excited for you!

Other than colt, bling? Color?
