Lovestruck aka Violet Joy

I saw one of his yesterday that was really intriguing but wasn’t a chestnut. I will keep an eye out, thank you.

Is this him?

He’s very nice. Does anyone know how he is bred?

Hey, didn’t Scott Stewart use to show a really nice bay hunter called Empire? I thought he was a stallion…

If I recall correctly Scott Stewart use to show a really nice bay called Empire? I thought he was a stallion…

Walk/Trot in the middle of the video.

A friend and fellow COTHer owns a half brother to my filly by this stallion. Her horse jumps a 10 and won the GES Cup for KWPN last year. Lovely temperament, too!

Thank you!

We went to Wellington for the WCHR tonight. It was fun to see all the top hunters from the week in one class. My favorite was by Darco. I looked him up, that is an unfortunate no.

Ok two names rose to the top of the list after this week at Wellington. Assuming I get over my worry over frozen I am considering Diarado and Lordanos. Any thoughts on either of them?

I’ve liked every Lordanos I’ve seen, including a lot of random horses I’ve seen recently who when I ask breeding, the answer is Lordanos. Sadly this is my only experience. Lovely horses with a real stamp.

I’m only judging by videos I’ve found, so take this for what it’s worth, but looking at the two, I think Diarado’s action looks to be more precise. I don’t know how much of that is blood or training.

My 2¢

Some people have weighed in on my FB thread with info about their Diarados and while they adore their horses it sound like they may be a little too hot for what I want.

I have liked pretty much every Lordanos I’ve seen, including one a friend just imported that is spectacular.

Weren’t there two of Lordanos’ get in that class? Private Practice is impressive.

I liked Golden Rule even better than Private Practice. He looked like you could put your great grandma on him!

Lordanos seems to get nice hunters anyway. He obviously can get chestnuts though, if color matters a lot to you.

Did you get the results of Juliet’s testing?

I haven’t sent it in yet, I am in Florida for an unknown amount of time due to a family emergency. Juliet is in Maryland.

Due to an extreme family emergency this project may be on hold until next year because it is unclear how much I am going to be home to work but if it is a go I think Lordanos is still in the lead. Looking for info on temperament of his get specifically because their talent is evident for anyone to see.

I am so sorry for your emergency. Jingles that all turns out well. Keep us posted (on Juliet’s love life, not trying to pry into your emergency)!

I detailed it on the Kim RIP thread in the Equestrians forum. I don’t mind talking about it because there is a valuable lesson there but don’t want to type it all out here too. Taking a mental break at WEF for a couple of hours to put it out of my mind for a bit and enjoy my version of heaven.
