I am so very sorry, @Laurierace. Please know that you and your family are in my prayers.
Hang in there Laurierace, we’re with you.
Sorry to hear the news about your father. Crossing my fingers that things go positively in his treatment.
On the WEF front, who have you seen lately that’s caught your eye (for breeding, pure eye candy/enjoyment, or?)?
I loved a gray gelding named High Society and a chestnut named Golden Rule the most but must admit my husband got sick of hearing me say “I love this one” the night of the WCHR final! So many incredible horses here.
Thank you everyone for your support and guidance.
 at the husband comment.
I feel that way… “ooh, THIS one…” (three horses later) “Oooh, THIS one!” rinse & repeat. (In my defense, my One True Stallion Love - ok like, 3 - are eternal and unchanging. But everything else changes regularly. Whoops.)
Random question: Do you find that most stallions used for H/J breeding have public color test results? I find some of the dressage stallions offer it, but not many… So I was wondering if this was a difference with breeding in another discipline.
I think a lot of stallions have been tested but I don’t know where those results would be found. This is only going to be my second warmblood foal if we do go through with it, no one cares what color their race horse foal is so as I bred horses for 20 years I am probably the wrong person to answer that question
Fair! All the color results I come across are posted on the stallion pages themselves (or if the semen broker, if frozen, has that information they provide it) but most of what I manage to come up with is just…game of numbers. Although I’m also the person who bought a young with no regard to color (bay sire, chestnut dam) and ended up with a black so I am also not the person to try to find an answer to this either.
Also, is Golden Rule ridden by (or was ridden by) a S. Dan.? I’m having fun watching him on youtube if he is. (Thank you for providing me fun youtube searches to fall down in tonight!)
Yes that is him. Stephanie Dan something. She had a lot of incredible horses here.
This thread has sort of morphed into a thread about my dad’s cancer battle. We are heading to the oncologist this morning so I should have a better idea what his schedule and therefore my life will be like for the near future. Breeding Juliet is the least of my concerns right now but should have a better idea if that is going to be possible today as well. Depends upon how much I am going to be able to work over the next several months since breeding for an ET means I have another horse to board.
Finger crossed Laurie. We are here to support you, here, there Wherever we’re here for you.
I wish you and yours all the best. I’ve been through this with someone who was a great, great friend… I hate even thinking of the “C” thing… {{huggs}}
It’s funny because my husband and I have been coming down here and spending 4-6 weeks at my dad’s house in Florida for several years now and I always dread going back home to reality instead of beaching it and going to WEF all the time. This year I just want to go home. I guess we always want what we can’t have but I also want to hug my babies

Will be thinking of you and your dad today.
Things are rolling now. Got the bone marrow biopsy, waiting for them to call us with the appointment for the liver biopsy and another to have a port put in. Pet scan is on Friday. We have friends coming to stay with us for a few days so may take a day trip to Disney for a mental break on Thursday.
Laurierace, thanks for the update. Hope the upcoming diagnostics have encouraging news.
Hope also that you get a chance for a mental break by heading to Disney. Seems like many people forget to take care of themselves when they are caring for others.

Thanks for keeping us up to date. I’ve been thinking of you and all of your people.
A big hug to you from Colorado.
Instead of looking at this wide variety of stallions, I would be looking at nicks for Rotspon (not Redwine). Forget a stallion like Diarado. Double up on the R line. Rubinero or Rubignon. Plus Edgar is a doll to deal with. As is Hilltop. I think we are really lucky to have Rubinero.
I don’t know anything about warmblood nicks, I am a TB breeder who used a pedigree analyst to plan my matings
Rubignon may be out. He is a WFFS carrier and I think that was a concern of OP’s if I remember correctly. Rubinero is N/N.
How are things in your world Laurierace?
