Maclay finals

I’m sure more than a few of them were sorry they hadn’t by the time they were told they could pick them up. All that banging…

I was wondering the same! Just take a second and cross them. All those swinging irons, detracts from the pretty picture

It’s a little unfortunate that all the plain brown horses were in the first group, while this group is much more of a variety pack. Lol.

More importantly, I would think it could be a distraction for the horse. Why take the chance?

I thought it was interesting that the announcer said “canter on the counter lead” once in the first group and then it seemed like a couple had a stride of correct lead canter and now he won’t say it anymore!

Doesn’t look like anyone in this group opted to cross, at least from what I could see.

Spacing is important, kids.

For the love of god, talk to the guys who do the western shows to figure out where to put the cameras for the flat. What useless angles.

I thought the same thing. :woman_shrugging:

That pack of 6 or so really didn’t do themselves any favors being all bunched up for the lengthening.

I like how the brown horse with the white face thought about grabbing a mouthful of the grass decorations on his way out of the ring. Lol.

Bobby Murphy does such a beautiful job with the jumps. Every time.

My WB once picked up an entire potted plant and took it with him on the way out. I was too busy laughing in shock to do a single thing about it. Thankfully the person at the gate saved it. :joy::woman_facepalming:t2:

I hate to cross them. I don’t want them banging around on my horse’s poor shoulders. If the leather stays under my leg where it belongs, my stirrup touches the girth, not my horse’s sides.

Because… horses. Lol.

I once hand walked my hunter for an International Derby. There was a jump built entirely of potted mums, and my horse grabbed one off the jump. While I wrenched that one out of his mouth and put it back, he took the opportunity to snatch another one. We repeated this fiasco until a rather well known jumper rider took pity on me (or the course designer) and came and rescued me.

Okay, I’m back from my clinic just in time for the second round! But I am heartbroken about Skylar. I was really hoping for her to finish on a win after knocking on the door all fall. :frowning:

I always found it more nerve wracking than it was worth to do. Could I do it quick enough? Could I do it “right”?

Is this her last junior year?

I believe hippos kill more people in Africa than any other animal.
