Maclay finals

Were you at Harrisburg the year John wore a hat that said “I’m their leader. Which way did they go?” And all his riders had on Hershey kiss hats. It was pretty funny to watch?

That looks very cool. Not exactly what I pictured as a tent. Lol.

To those who were discussing the type of jumps earlier, Bobby Murphy just described them as uniquely “equitation jumps” and as that being a new niche for him, as opposed to straightforward hunter- or jumper-style fences.

I missed the flat, but did Madison Nadolenco’s horse have a meltdown in the flat? Saw she dropped from 7th to 24th.

Thank you for sharing! Seven to eight to nine looks fun!

Requested courtesy circles and no dotted line is in part why this is going to be such a long day.

I missed it too but maybe counter canter issue?

Appreciate the courtesy circle for the horses’ sakes but does add time to the day.

Yup. Although the placement of the dotted line in the first round at roughly the center of that huge ring rendered it pretty useless too.

Lovely pathfinder trip for Madison Nadolenco. She may have struggled in the flat phase but she did herself a solid there.

Don’t know what happened specifically, but I saw a whole lot of head wiggling as she started trotting so I wonder if he was not into the flatting with all the other horses.

Sorry, but make it simpler for me. How can you get to a jump too early?

Getting there long.

Ava is so great! I love it when she gets going on the actual trip.

I think this may be the type of second round Maclay course where it’s less about the questions of the course and more about the riders taking the initiative, finding places to show off and set themselves apart.

Great hand gallop by Stella

The opposite. Overriding down to the base.
