Well, now I feel validated. Thanks, @Darkwave!
Jake Endicottâs position is not my favorite.
No shock there.
Needs to be a bit more secure in that lower leg.
Jake Endicottâs horse looks like he has such a comfortable canter
Eee. The slow-mo replay did not make that combination look better!!
Jake started off 1-2-3 so well, 2 to 3 just beautiful in compressing the horse without really looking like he was changing the length of stride, and then unfortunately there were 8 more. What a lovely horse.
Eyes, which is what both of those riders said. Leg, seat, hand, voice, eyes.
Ah, I misunderstood your original post. I think eyes create weight, but I take your argument and Iâm not gonna split hairs about it. I learned 4, as you can tell.
If you substitute the word âcuesâ for âaidsâ with the definition being a way to communicate with your horse, my thought would be that the eyes donât communicate directly with the horse except through the affect that turning your head has (through your spine) on your seat.
Interesting - how do eye have any action to impact the horse without the other 4 aids? Genuinely curious.
I think Madison Frankelâs jump over the brush staircase is the only one I havenât loved.
Eliza Cramâs horseâs legs are longer than my entire body.
Lol.
A lot of these horses are landing split behind this round
I donât agree with Avaâs take there, the horse landed disunited. Him swapping had less to do with the move up and more to do with that.
To our discussion earlier about position- this second round is where I am using it. We have a couple of riders who have arguably done the job with the same level of quality, so now I care what their left shoulder was doing or their right wrist was doing. If you can do it despite an error in position thatâs great, but eventually that left shoulder influences the weight aid and the right wrist influences the hand aid, so itâll catch up to you.
(And for the avoidance of doubt, for me itâs round shoulders and a puppy paw left wrist.)
But where was the hand gallop
He has a beautiful expression too.
I love Kylaâs big flashy horse and his floppy ears!
