Mallard Springs Farm- SC .. any experience?
My concern was for the horses and to be honest I have little faith with local enforcement to be able to determine proper care. So that document means little to me, what may have helped your cause is posting recent photos of all of your horses on the farm. That may have actually made some of us believe it was a one time mistake on your part.

However, the lying/name changing, undisclosed health issues, personal attacks and bullying is what people are concerned about in regards to fraud.
This was my thought as well. Animal control won’t lift a finger until a horse is close to death in this area. Horses in poor condition are all too common around here, so unfortunately I think AC thinks this is normal and acceptable.

Unfortunately to some this housekeeping is the norm not the exception and no one sees anything wrong with it. Kristi has personally seen one of my rehabs that I fund myself. One of 5 in 2 years of living here. AC was called on 2 of the owners, not even a warning.

The report means nothing to me.

Unfortunately kristikgc is quite correct on animal control in this area.

So is it William or Thompson? And why would you change your name if you have such a good reputation?

Forgive me if I have overlooked something in this long saga, but I believe the primary issue with the gray horse was the lump on his lymph nodes/neck and unthrifty (not as advertised weight)?

Honestly those two pics could both be accurate - the first one is not shot to look for body score (gray horse in washed out lighting/no adequate pics of affected area on neck vs. the “after” shot - not sunny day, perfect for capturing details, including neck). Honestly, I could see these as before/after in a shipped horse because they both look almost equally unthrifty if you know how much variability you can get in a pic based on lighting. They do not, however, rise to the level that AC tends to care about (at least here in GA). That’s a far lower standard than someone who paid for a horse advertised at some other weight. So to me the pictures/police report don’t really have much bearing on the original allegations. And before pics are studiously missing any of the foundered lame horse’s legs.

MSF Farms-fraud

I have bought a horse from him 2 months ago, He is on there and his name is ABLE… He is supposed to be an oldenburg/tb cross… not really sure. I only bought him bc in his video he had an awsome jump to him. When Able arrived he was way under weight and very wormy. His overall condition is bad, and I would say he has a lot more TB in him then warmblood. He was pretty wild acting as well. After about 2 months he looks a lot better and has grown… With love and care he is doing great. These people are trash and when I tried to email them back to get more info on ABLE they would not contact me, I am having him vet checked to see if he really is a 3 year old or I would not be supprised if he was only 2…

I have before and after pics of the horse I purchased Able, and they are remarkable. I am sad that I dealt with such a trashy character but with Love and care, Able is doing great! He should be prosecuted and for future buyers be ware of video buying… I personally will always look at the horse first from now on…

While the horses aren’t up to the standard of care I keep my horses in, they aren’t so severe that AC will care. The real problem, however, is the fraud. It’s one thing to have a horse come off a trailer having dropped weight, especially if they start a little on the skinny side. It’s a whole different thing to have a horse arrive with swollen lymph nodes and having foundered. THAT is fraud and unethical.

TaylorSportHorse- I’d love to see the pics.

I think its odd that all of his horses RUN at the jumps in the videos and snap thier knees up like that. Horses dont naturally free jump like that…

I hope the horses all get good homes and that this man gets prosecuted to the full extent of the law. He is a horrible person and has tricked and duped so many people.

Agreed. Hmmmm. What do you think goes on in that chute when the camera is off?

Luna:

After all the things said about me, and my farm over the last week, I am not surprized that this police report isn’t enough. To be honest, I expected no less. I did not get on here, to do anything other than to provide proof of the findings of the police. I used to do horses because they are fun, and because I loved horses more than anything. Due to constant unproven gossip,my love for horses is no more. SO, CONSIDER YOURSELVES WINNERS! ALL OF Y’ALL WIN! I QUIT! I’m out of the horse business forever.
Sure - you quit until you can hang up your shingle with another name on it and start your masquerade all over again!

“If you dont like them. Just ship them back to me, and I will be happy to sell them for you, for the price that you paid, according to the terms of my consignment program. Or if you see two other horses on the web site that you like… I will be happy to trade them.”

Thompson offered to trade two other horses off of the Mallard Springs website or take the two sold to TheHarrier and try to sell them for her under his consignment program.

This would mean paying Thompson for boarding two horses that were misrepresented to begin with, paying him a commission to defaud someone else, and running TheHarrier’s name and reuptation through the mud along with his. Why would anyone agree to this?

As far as the report goes, there are ways to get around a visit from animal control, etc. How about moving horses?

Exactly. Or those 14 present were just freshly picked up from auction [edit]

Just email me at Shawnalt21@msn.com. I will send you before and after pics.

A very dear friend of mine has a saying.

When one person doesn’t like you, it’s them.
When everyone hates you, it’s you.

I’ve said nothing throughout this- not really my place.

However for christ sake Mallard spring (literally and figuratively) find a duckin’ dictionary and stop using “z” as “s” like your 15 years old.

The entertainment is great but the spelling and grammar is just making you look like a 12 year old with an IP rerouter.

I’m struck by how much effort con artists and frauds expend in their “work.” I’m too lazy for that, but I suppose that’s why I’m not the criminal type.

It reminds me of a couple I know who are in an “open relationship.” (i.e., He gets to have a wife AND a girlfriend.) They spend 95 percent of their time managing the logistics of the relationship. How boring! How exhausting! How juvenile! Same goes for con artists, I think. The thrill must be in managing all of the lies and cover-ups because, otherwise, what’s the point? A real job may be boring, but it’s a heckuva lot less effort.

Finally, I love that Mallard Springs says he’s quitting his life’s passion because of a few forum pages. The power COTHers have! We need to bottle this raw, explosive clout.

well, I do think mis-spelled words are even less mightier than the pens that are mightier than swords…

Does he really think we wouldn’t know that the photo dates could be altered?? Or ferreted out?

Honestly, yes:rolleyes:

I too recently bought a horse from Thomson Moore/ Old Orchard Farm. My horse came to me very under weight and the shipper said that he picked him up around midnight and he had to wait for him to basically be fetched from a muddy field. Who leaves a horse in a field when he knows that he is about to be loaded on a trailer!!?!?!?! He has a Hernia which was undisclosed to me. Also this “warmblood” came to me with racing plates on. Explain that one Thomson. I’m just glad I got this horse away from this man, even if I way overpaid. Anyway please PM me if anyone knows what can be done about this guy?
