Mallard Springs Farm- SC .. any experience?

Oh yah, and has anyone also noticed that merlot is on the old orchard page under the sale page but marked as sold and also under the sold section but they are two different people but the same pictures yet I saw that sold add of her on there months before she was re-listed. Wouldn’t she have gone through more training in between and new pictures taken. Sounds odd to me

Does the horse have a lip tattoo? If you could trace the horse’s tattoo number through the Jockey Club, that would prove it’s not a warmblood.

HunterTux-- Which horse did you buy from him? I bought Able,(3 year old oldenburg cross) he has never had shoes and was not trained at all. He looked very TB’y to me so I checked for tattoo but their was none, which just indicates he was never raced.

I asked another person about him, and they said he has that big chest bone in the middle which is usually a WB or draft trait??? Do not know much about that.

If they are only TB’s we overpaid big time, due to the fact I can drive up to my local track and get them free and not have to pay 600.00 in shipping expenses. I spoke to 1 person that has gone through something like that and they had to get a lawyer to subpoena DNA test on mare and stallion. However if yours does have a tat you wouldn’t even have to do all that.

See my post #100. I noticed that all his TB/WB’s are barely
3 yo’s… I swear these are TB’s coming off of training, no future as racehorse, thus sent to auction. No need for tatoo if they’re not going to run. No one is sending to auction attractive, good moving, and what appears to be pretty athletic TB/WB jumpers… Let alone selling/consigning through someone for these kind of prices.

The one I was interested in was, Gemini, back in October. I don’t even see him listed on his site as “sold” which worries me to no end.

Glad that legal action against him is in play.

Don’t be too worried…after word started getting out about him he started not putting a lot of the horses in the sold section. I find it amazing he still puts “horses for sale due to owner needing to downsize” or whatever. All those poor horses are given to him for a “good” home or out of an auction bought by him. He has no love for horses…just greed.

This is exactly why Forums were created!

This thread began with a simple request: “I wanted to see if anyone had dealt with this farm before I jump to conclusions.” This sentence alone inferred that ‘less than favorable’ information had already been gleaned from cursory research. The last sentence was just as cryptic, but clearly indicates a problem: “Yes, I am keeping my 2 cents to myself right now, optimistically hoping I am wrong and there will be positive feedback.”

I am so glad that no one on this thread has stooped to the level of William Moore and/or any of his aliases. The majority of posts have been supremely responsible and caring, focusing only on the welfare of the horses and the urgent need to prevent Mr. Moore’s ability to not only continue defrauding people, but to put an absolute halt to any further neglect and/or abuse of any more animals.

Mr. Moore has singlehandedly unveiled several “red flags” about himself and his business. --A reputable horseman/horsewoman will almost never have to change the name of his farm and most certainly won’t ever have to change his own name! --A “horse lover” is ALWAYS a horse lover. This is a passion that never leaves you. --A true Christian would never make a judgment about another’s marital status or mental health even if they knew them intimately, let alone make accusatory remarks about someone he has never met.

In addition, I am not impressed with the Animal Control report as everyone knows that the animals would have to be near-death to warrant any action. In addition, there seems to have been plenty of time for Mr. Moore to have “re-arranged” his stock of animals after having been tipped off about an unhappy transaction.

There is no plausible explanation that in over 200 posts, there is not a single “happy customer.” A reputable horseman who has been in business for just a few years should not only have several happy customers, but at least a few dozen “regulars.” If Mr. Moore has been “unfairly” targeted, it would only take a few calls or e-mails to recruit even ONE to defend him.

Also, Mr. Moore needs to get himself some new legal counsel as the “best attorney in South Carolina” should be aware that “slander” only applies to statements made orally; while “libel” applies only to written or published statements. In addition, a successful prosecution of a libel suit would involve proving the statements were not only “false” but maliciously intended. In other words, if it’s true—it’s not libel. Furthermore, libel is not a criminal offense, it is a civil tort. One would never be taken to jail in the U.S. for libelous behavior.

In summary, this has not been a “bash” thread. These are people with real criticisms, confirmed evidence of deception, and verifiable proof of neglect at some level. If capable, Mr. Moore needs to open his eyes and realize that if one person complains, they are most likely the problem; if everybody complains, he’s the one with the problem.

Anyone who would so obviously neglect a horse & take so many steps to deceive his customers has lost his passion for horses a long time ago. This appears to be an unstable man desperately trying to recapture a reputation lost. It is my opinion that Mr. Moore has come to realize that the “jig” is up & the trail of deception is not only becoming all too clear, but can most likely be documented. Unfortunately for him, “getting out of the business” will not solve his apparent and numerous difficulties.

Well said, MommaBear!

Why does everything have its tail wrapped?

MSF website is getting revamped seems.

Any news on Lulu?

He is also posting on CL looking for free farm animals, including horses. My hand happened to slip to the flag button…oops:lol:

That poor grey mare needs some groceries. I wonder what happened to the 14 remaining horses on the property. My understanding is that some do belong to the farm owner he is leasing the property from.

Funny how you can accidentally flag the equinenow.com ads too! Convenient there is a FRAUD option and a little box where you can write a description of the seller.

Not that I would know.

:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
Seriously, Thomson?

ETA: poor grey mare looks NQR on the right lead. poor thing!:frowning:

ETAA: “Doolittle has been in my beginner lesson program for 5 years, I’m only parting with him because I am getting out of the horse business”

I can only hope that’s true.

Grey mare is named Luna… … … …

The Luna ad was so strange. I hope most people will see the red flags flying…

How sad. Buyer beware.

I noticed that too…wierd! Maybe he is also the guy who “dates” horses???

Also advertising on CL for boarding. Nothing wrong with that, just hoping that it’ll go better than the horse sales.

Strange new site in the works for MSF. Are they switching from horses and duck meat to cheap seaside real estate?

Is this guy from Nigeria?

If he is, he has a very well rehearsed southern accent.
