Mallard Springs Farm- SC .. any experience?

If the service of process cannot be made upon defendant in SC, your lawyer can go back to the court and have the judge sign an order for service by publication. Then the notice is run in the newspaper for 3 successive weeks in lieu of personal service. This is SOP in most civil lawsuits. So def. might as well accept service and file his answer. Which answer/excuses should be very entertaining,

Just for **its and giggles, I emailed our friend about Maserati. Here is his reply (what a surprise):

Hello Laura,

I currently have a signed agreement on Maz. I am awaiting payment presently. If anything falls though, I will let you know. Thank you for your interest.

I have been following this thread for quite a while and im glad it was made. I used to get on the Old Orchard website and look and the horses for sale, was actually interested in a few until i saw this. But he seems to continue to try to sell more horses. I stumbled upon another ad, pictures look just like the one he always takes of horses he is selling

WHAT is with the tail wraps???

CL ad

I got him to respond to me (for a little while anyway). Name given was “Mark Burgess” with the email mightymarkburgess@yahoo.com for the ad for the TB mare. He won’t give out a phone number (and I surely won’t give him mine). Good luck to all who have dealt with this loser in the past.

According to the reply emails I have gotten from Golden Poco whateverhisnameis, ALL his sale horses have deposits on them…he will be sure to let me know if they don’t work out. Yep, I’m waiting on THAT email.

I’m confused. (See icon–> )

What’s the point of putting up ads for horses, then telling people who express any interest that the horses are no longer available?

From what I can tell, he doesn’t have any rhyme or reason to what he does! He “masquaraded” as a USEF member (who is no longer a member) from the west coast, but claimed he was from virginia, and answered an ad for a horse I had for sale (who was SO wonderful I decided to get him and keep him for myself!). He acted interested, but the emails were “strange” then he sends a SCATHING email AND posts a comment on the horses youtube video that the horse was HORRIBLY lame and how I was going to be reported to USEF (?) etc. I mean, what exactly was the point of all this? Needless to say, the horse is perfectly sound, I own him now and am showing him some. I just don’t understand WHY he bothered with this masquarade, unless he thought since he claimed the horse was lame etc that I would give him the horse for little or no money so he could turn around and sell it???

don’t get anything from these people. They were on the web as old orchard horses but then got into trouble for selling horses as sound but were not. Then they made a new site listed as in Greenwood, SC (were I am from) and there is no such place as Mallard Springs. both sites are now down. now they are listing horses on equine.com as in Laurens, SC.
they are under investigation from what i here

I wonder if he tells that to anyone who wants to see the horses. That way he can keep advertising them and try to find someone willing to buy them over the internet, no PPE, no visit.

That would make sense. In a bad way. :frowning:

Would anyone who contacted him like to confirm that theory?

I know someone who almost bought a mare from him, scheduled a “surprise” PPE with a vet unfamiliar to him, and let’s just say she “failed” it. And I’m not one to say a PPE is a “pass” or “fail”

ETA: She was going to buy the mare via internet

I called last year about a horse on the website. I left a message and mentioned wanting to see the horse. No response. Left a second message with no response as well. Then I started reading about him here, and it all made sense.

More about Moore

Anyone interested in trying to get a few TV stations involved? Fox 25 is always looking for stories. It seems as though we have enough people involved to make it a good one. They also have the time and money to find him. I will email all of those who sent private messages, I have been away from this thread for a while, sorry!

Great job tracking him! If we all keep up the effort maybe we can see this guy come to justice!

I have copies of many of Thomson Moores (aka: Robert Lenard, Robert Robert, Old Orchard Horse Farm etc) horse ads. He was quick to remove them as soon as the horse went under agreement to erase any paper trail. The good news, I have mine and many others in case you are one of those who missed an opportunity to print it.

thomson moore aka jsgoldenpoco (most recent name) has taken his ads off the web again. Anyone know who his new name is?

Wellllll…he apparently did not like my request for information, and has added me to his “fecal roster” on Ripoff Report. It’s sick and funny at the same time.

Oh, my gosh, moonriverfarm. That is sad yet funny. I never knew this type of list existed. So, I take it you’re one of the “quacks”? hehe. Sorry you had to deal with this.

Whoever posted the “comments” has very obviously never met any of the “partners” as there is not an old lady in the bunch. Also, the fact that the chihuahua rescue was mentioned let the cat out of the bag, as COTH is the only place that tag is even posted. Soooooo, it was obviously a comment made by “somebody” who saw that in my sig, but who clearly has never met or dealt with me/us in person. Geez, we are such a small operation it never dawned on me we would become this important that we were blasted on this wonderful **** list!
