Manufacturers of tack/clothing: here is what I would love to buy, but cannot find ...
That was before my time with DA, but they do have full seats in the All Pro ribbed and the Versaille fabrics. Both are high tech fabrics. I love the All Pro for summer riding as they are moisture wicking. They also make full seats in the new Signature line.
Is the full seat an insert or is it sewn on over the actual material? The reason I love my old ones so much is it’s sewn over the material, so it’s the fabric against your leg and not the clarino or leather, which, IMO feels kind of gross when it’s 95 degrees out as opposed to the wicking technical fabric.

My latest little vent for manufacturers. Please make your size charts readable, some are so tiny you can’t make out the size of the measurements. Also, keep them consistent, I came across size charts for boots, same manufacturer, same model of boot but different size charts. Additionally, why have sizes on your size chart if no distributor ever carries that size and even you as the manufacturer don’t stock that size (manufacturer sells off their website)? If it’s a custom order size then please have a separate size chart for that. Found the perfect size boot but not one distributor carried it including the manufacturer though they listed it on their size chart.

I guess I don’t have a better alternative, but I don’t think I want snot on my gloves. I must not be understanding this right ;)
Horse snot, own snot, what’s the big deal?

I’m getting really tired of people calling body types they may not have things like “anorexic” or “boyish” or whatever. Just because it’s not YOUR body type doesn’t mean it’s some negative thing.

You can be thin and not have an eating disorder. You can be fat and still have no butt and boobs. You can be strong and still be a woman who doesn’t need concealing for “dignity.”

Let’s stop with this kind of language, yes? You can be unhappy with the available breeches selection without shaming other people’s bodies with these hyperbolic descriptions.
Thank you for saying this. As someone who lifts weights daily, I have big thighs and shoulders, but im fairly small otherwise. Im tall and slim but I work hard for that figure.

Theres some people that are just built slim. If someone fat shamed on this forum it would be a huge deal, but it doesn’t go the other way? How about we dont shame body types?

How about we support each other instead of tear people down with snide and hurtful comments. Also whats wrong with sparkles? Or neon razorback tank tops? The best part of the world is that we all like different things.

That being said, finding breeches that fit my thighs and my waist without the tailor is a joke. Just because im a 28 in the waist doesnt mean that the leg of a 28 fits over my thighs.

Ive taken to wearing yoga pants to the barn. For $25 a pair a get wicking fabric that fits my thights and waist. I wear through them quickly and use a lot of sticky spray but I cant find breeches that fit as well.

I tried on 20 plus pairs at Dover and it was one thing or another that they didnt fit. I hate trying on clothes and its really depressing that nothing fits right. Tailored Sportsman breeches are the only brand I will buy these days. They are the only ones that seem to work for me.

Have you tried TuffRider? You and I sound the same physique-wise, and I can fit into them. Same with Tredsteps which I just love.

I posted a thread on the dressage forum in the winter about my nose running when it is cold outside. Awkward during a lesson! Someone suggested the terrycloth wrist bands that are used in tennis. Awesome! I got a 12 pack on Amazon so I have plenty of clean ones available!

The full seat is sewn over the material for both the Versaille and the All Pro line.

I had a pair of the 2" thick waistband Tuff Riders and loved them. I had a pair for four years and they were awesome. The only issue was that they fell down even with a belt. Like I couldn’t crank my belt tight enough to keep them about my waist. Otherwise I loved them.

I bought the Tredsteps when they first came out. I hot the $120 ones I believe and I loved them when they came out. I did have to get the waist taken in, but they were awesome. Not sure if it was the new style or what but after the 2nd wear the knee patch started to come unstitched. The fabric stained a bit quicker than Id like as well. Maybe they have worked that all out and I should pick up another pair.

Thanks for the suggestions, I do think Ill grab another pair of the Tuff Riders. They were awesome.

You may want to just give the new Smartpak Knit Pipers a try…I am built a lot like you (it sounds like) and have the same fit issues…the Tuff Riders were previously the best fit I could find but these knit Pipers are freaking amazing. NOTHING like the original Pipers which didn’t fit me in any way. These stretch, they’re a decent rise and they’re ridiculously comfortable. The only breeches I own that don’t fall down on me when I move.

Thank you very much! I have the old Pipers and I think I may have worn them once. I also had the Bradley breeches from Smartpak and they fit horribly. I will have to give them a try. I see all the amazing colors and I really want to try them again but have been wary after the original failure of the Pipers/Bradleys. Thanks for the tip!

I would love to find breeches that are cut for the curvy figure, yet come in small sizes. If they fit the booty, they are gapping at the waist. I’m sure I would have more luck if I lived close enough to a tack shop to try things on, but I’m restricted to mail order. Do these exist?

No problem!! I love that if they don’t work for you…you can just send them back for free  But I was really, really impressed. The knits don’t come in as many fun colors as the original Pipers but maybe one day they’ll introduce more colors. Good luck!!

Tall boots for the shorter person!! And not everyone has teeny slim calves. I am not big at all - average size I wear is a 4- but most tall boots are too tall and too slim.

Plus - why is it that breeches that fit me everywhere else are gaping at the waist??

I do like the jewel tones idea, too.

I second the cries for more choices in regular rise breeches - I too am long in waist and hips and there is no way in h-e-double toothpicks that I can wear low rise. They’ll slide off and I’ll arrested for indecent exposure.
AND DRESS BOOTS. There have been lots of requests for boots to fit wider calves. I have a 15" calf - but my problem is that I also have a very short tibia. Boots that come in wider calves, also tend to be around 17 1/2" - 18" and taller and that’s way too long for my short leg. On top of that I have a small foot - size 7. So finding dressage boots is a nightmare. And I don’t like zippers. . .if there is no zipper there is nothing to break at the last minute. My current boots are semi-custom and have hidden elastic gussets that make it easy to pull them on and off. . . the problem is the shop that made them closed and my boots are about ready to be replaced and I’m not quite sure what I’m going to do. . .

Petites in more colors (with regular rise waistlines)! really the only breeches/tights I have found that fit me are Irideon’s. Them being a whole two inches shorter than their regular means the elastic is above my ankle bone instead of at my foot. Unfortunately they’re closing their petite line and only come in the most basic of colors (navy, black, white, tan).

Dress boots for short calves most definitely! And half chaps for short and wide calves too! (posting for a friend :stuck_out_tongue: )

I half want to start making my own breeches, but I am not good with straight lines, especially with stretch fabrics!

We don’t care about brand, and are looking for women’s field boots size 11 or 12 with 17.5" calves in 19-20" tall. Even men’s sizes aren’t right. Do we seriously have to get them custom made? They are just for collegiate team riding - not heading to the Olympics! Thanks for any tips!!

Suggest Kroops Boots. They are American-made, excellent quality, and reasonable in cost (for custom boots). They don’t recommend zippers.

Since this isn’t really in response to anybody’s post, I guess I have to tell you that forum members don’t really enjoy it when a brand comes in just to shill their stuff and not be legitimately helpful.

Also, on top of that, This thread is really quite old.
Posting just to sell your product tends to make COTHers less likely to buy your product.
