Manufacturers of tack/clothing: here is what I would love to buy, but cannot find ...

Those old time brands (the Schumacher’s) used this material on a lot of their breeches
https://www.fabricline.com/ProductDetail.php?rctno=70970 I’ve decided that I’m fed up with what is being made out there, and will just make my own from now on.

I have the Black Knight belt bag and love it!
???

I’m lost. Wrong thread, perhaps? There’s a thread asking about a phone case for iPhone 6 Plus.

amen to the kerrits peplum jacket - its SO flattering!

I wish UA would bring back the all weather cotton. so lightweight and perfectly long in the arms!

I’ll also second the make xtra tall boots ACTUALLY tall. I have long legs and apparently I’m all shin. No factory ‘tall’ boot is ever tall enough. I’ve seen the Wellesley extra tall and I am willing to give it a shot… but at the low price point I am worried about the quality. Can ariat please just make an xx tall with decent widths?

I loved that Schoeller fabric used in the old Schumacher breeches; it wore like iron.

I love the Schoeller fabrics! Tropical Rider used them in their Show Breeches. Sadly, it seems that they (TR) are extremely limited in their selections. I still have a couple of TR breeches, in that fabric. Not sure if they fit now, but I will hang on to them anyway. Real deerskin seats, too!

I’m getting really tired of people calling body types they may not have things like “anorexic” or “boyish” or whatever. Just because it’s not YOUR body type doesn’t mean it’s some negative thing.

You can be thin and not have an eating disorder. You can be fat and still have no butt and boobs. You can be strong and still be a woman who doesn’t need concealing for “dignity.”

Let’s stop with this kind of language, yes? You can be unhappy with the available breeches selection without shaming other people’s bodies with these hyperbolic descriptions.
Yes, it gets tiring to hear that I am anorexic, built like a boy, or not womanly, just because genetics has kept me thin.

Full-seat breeches with NO SEAM in the crotch! FITS is about the only one who uses a gusset like workout tights - I’d like to see it in brands like Pikeur.
I would like to see them in other brands. Pikeur is too expensive for me.
Unfortunately they aren’t cut with the extra size thru the hips and thigh like the Shapely, they only have a control panel. Not that I couldn’t use that too.
The Ovation Taylored Model does (I can actually go down a size in them so the waist actually fits my waist!) Romfh Champion breeches are the same way.
I KNOW they wouldn’t fit because there simply isn’t enough of the (thin, cheesy) fabric there to even zip them up. And some of us from Ye Olden Daze of Tailored Sportsman, Kentucky and Georg Schumacher just won’t DO “sausage casing.” Or fugly neon racer-back tank-top, for that matter. It’s called dignity.

In the 80’s and 90’s, the better German breeches WERE cut for a filled-out figure (think “St. Pauli Girl” type ) as opposed to anorexic youth. That’s why we notice the contrast. Furthermore, higher-quality fabrics with more heft tend to eliminate the “lumps and bumps” look. Stretchiness is not the issue.

I still have pairs of the old-tyme brands in a 30-32, purchased in the EIGHTIES that I still wear, so I think I speak for many here that the issue is not the size as much as the cut.

Perhaps if riding apparel mfr.'s put as much research into cuts, fabrics and demographics as they do into Swarovski crystal-crusting of helmets and boots, they might make more money.

Back to the Future . . . !
I’m not as young as you think I am  I was also wearing breeches in the 80s and the 90s. The lack of stretch in the fabric meant saggy bums, the fabrics didn’t breathe well, many of the fabrics pilled and were tough to clean (dry clean only), and velcro bottoms left me with permanent rub marks. I know the “old days” always seem better in retrospect but you might actually like the improved fabrics if you tried them.

Either your Dover had a really odd selection, of you didn’t look hard enough. Because the three I go to (NJ, PA, and DE) stock a whole wall of helmets and tons of breeches that are not thin fabric, neon, and Swarovski crystal-crusted.

Off the top of my head, the following are all thicker, nicer fabric and not cut to be skintight… Riding Sport basic woven breeches, Riding Sport competitor, Dublin shapley, Custom Riding shapley, Devon Aire signature woven, or Ovation euroweave. No neon or bling either  I would be shocked if AT LEAST the Riding Sport ones weren’t available to try on in the store.

And all 3 of the aforementioned Dovers carry at least some of these breeches and can order the rest. Maybe next time ask a sales person for help? Because it sounds like either your Dover was really out of stock or you may have overlooked some breeches that you might have actually liked.

P.S.- I don’t think negging other people’s body types is very nice.

I need a version of the Soless visor that doesn’t cost as much as my helmet! Need the clear instead of black or fabric. http://www.soless.net

If not that an under $150 wider-brimmed helmet! Surprised Ovation or Troxel hasn’t come out with one yet. I have eye issues with the sun and even in a covered arena a bit of extra protection that doesn’t block my already-limited field of vision would be wonderful.
Have you tried the helmet visors that horsefare makes?? I see them all over the place!

It may have already been mentioned and I missed it, but I would love to be able to easily find cream or ivory colored full-seat show breeches and show shirts.

If you check out the dressage forum’s recent thread on a “sensitive” issue, you’ll see multiple ramblings from LE (complete with random bold and CAPITALIZATION) on similar subjects. After the rants here, I’m not sure she needs to try on breeches so much as she needs to try on therapy.

Signed,
A woman with no ass. Not an anorexic. Not a teenage boy. Not a twig.

PS: yes, this post was very rude of me and I apologize to those who had to witness my snark.

Maybe 15 years ago, Devon Aire made full-seat breeches out of a technical-type fabric that I can’t remember the name of to save my life (something-something 2000, maybe?) that I loved, and now wish I had stocked up on since they’re long since discontinued. They came in a decent variety of sizes and colors, stretchy, almost shiny looking fabric, not particularly pretty but I loved the fit and they wore like iron. My one last pair is finally giving up the ghost (after well over 10 years!) The full seat was sewn on over the stretch material, not an inset, which was great for those of us without a thigh gap because it never wore out. I mean never. After all these years, it’s the stitching and elastic going in mine, not the material or the full seat. They were cheap, too, IIRC. Oh, how I miss those breeches; I haven’t found any I like as well since. Though Tough Rider would win some major points with me if they’d make the ribbed full-seats in the neon colors…

Same here. White looks terrible on me, and believe it or not terrible on my palomino horse, too.

I have a very simple request: I want a pair of winter riding gloves that have terrycloth thumbs so I can wipe my nose on them while I ride.

They make winter bike riding mitts with terrycloth thumbs (I have some and I love them); I want a pair for horse riding. I hate having to stop and fumble around for Kleenex.

That was before my time with DA, but they do have full seats in the All Pro ribbed and the Versaille fabrics. Both are high tech fabrics. I love the All Pro for summer riding as they are moisture wicking. They also make full seats in the new Signature line.

That is a really good idea. I would definitely buy a pair of those. Patent the idea before someone else can!

Heritage gloves did one or two models with the terry backed thumbs. I think Tredstep did too, but I don’t know that they’ve continued making gloves. I’ve really like some of Heritage’s models.

I guess I don’t have a better alternative, but I don’t think I want snot on my gloves. I must not be understanding this right
