Have possible ET recipient mare or whatever you’d want her for…
This would be for the 2009-10 season, of course. Located in central Iowa. I didn’t breed anything last year and now it looks that all of my mares are bred for this spring, however I don’t need to repeat that for the following year. It’s simply too much for me.
Vet is coming later this month to reconfirm pregnancies, but fairly certain by looking that they’re all still very much in foal. I know this will probably hinder timing and such, but if you’re in no hurry to get that going, this just might work for you.
On to the mare. She’s a coming 12yo registered Percheron mare that has had three foals for me (not including the one in the oven), all fillies. Two by my stallion and one w/ an outside stallion (bought her in foal.) She’s 17hh black and has a few white hairs on her forehead, LF heel is white and one tiny spot on her RH pastern. If I remember right, she had three foals w/ her previous owner. She’s easy to breed and hasn’t had any complications reproductive wise, foaling or milking (she milks like a holstein and looks it.) Great mom and not protective, you can do anything you want w/ the baby the minute it pops out and she could care less. She’s broke to drive single and multiples and is green broke to ride (w/t only, it’s all the farther we got.) Traffic safe and been trail riding, goes through water and any terrain. Or simply hop on her and let her walk you around. She doesn’t require stocks to trim and will lift her foot for you once you tap her fetlock and say “foot”. She stands fine for vetting and de-worming.
She is alpha in her herd, but gets along w/ other mares and foals and my stallion just fine. She’s also been w/ geldings and is fine w/ them, as well. Everyone knows their place.
If you think you’d be interested, send me a PM. She’s really a great mare, but I’d hate to see her sit again next year and eat.
