Mare-sharing--free broodmare leases!

Thoroughbred Broodmares

I have several Tb mares available for free lease/free to good homes: three proven, one maiden. All registered.

  1. Lou Lou’s A Gamer : 15.3 hand bay mare. Easy keeper, excellent feet. Very sweet and a lovely, powerful mover. Had a nice filly in '09. Been open since. Pasture sound.

  2. Dancing Villian: 15.1 hand gray mare. Easy keeper, good feet. Sound, but would require an experienced rider to put her in work again. Had a nice colt in '08. Been open since.

  3. She’s Another Kip: 16.2 hand bay mare. Sound on a sesamoid fracture that led to her retirement from racing. Had a filly in '09, open since.

  4. Witto Road: 16 hand bay mare. Sound after 39 starts on the track. Very smart, easy keeper. Classy girl and 100% sound.

TB Mare - Half sister to Sally Cousin’s Tsunami (by Roanoke)

Babe is a fantastic mare that is looking for a new home. Her bloodlines are incredible and I have her papers. She is coming 14 and spent most of her life as a pleasure horse and did some fox-hunting. She does need a consistent and experienced rider, she is not for someone that wants to ride less than 5 days a week. She is incredibly athletic and beautiful but has the energy that goes with that athletisism. I have too many young horses to get going and sold right now and I am not riding her and I am not breeding again for a few more years. SO I am hoping that someone would like to use her for this year as a broodmare - I hate to see her bloodlines go to waste! She is rideable but takes a very light rider so I would prefer to see her used as a broodmare - she is such a nice mover! I have lots of pictures and a video. She is located with me in Waxhaw, NC. my email is gerdon2010@gmail.com Thanks! Lisa

Need height? SSAs are fast approaching…

17.2+H TB mare who would’ve been an Eq horse but for pasture accident. Great confo, grey with big lipid eye, no vices, good for vet/farrier/other mares, no “big horse problems”, young & fertile, repro sound, UTD vaccines/worming, currently at repro clinic in Oregon. I have her JC papers for approval in any warmblood book. Lines include USEF leading hunter sires Relaunch & Slewpy, full Pedigree: http://www.pedigreequery.com/minks+fallen+snow

please pm me to discuss. thank you.

Jockey Club registered 2003 mare approved AHHA (Holsteiner) in Main MareBoook for free lease. Has had one foal, AHHA premium as both foal and mature mare. She is 15.3, with What a Pleasure (through Foolish Pleasure via Native Factor) and is a Bold Ruler/Damascus cross like Coconut Grove and Napur. In Ohio. Please pm with any questions.

I unfortunately lost my broodmare to a one in a million freak occurrence during pregnancy that we did everything we could to save her from. She was a super mare that wasn’t happy in her previous job, I got her to give her a forever home in trade for giving me one baby. Unfortunately, it ended very sadly, but am hoping to try again.

What I’m looking for:
a well built and conformationally correct warmblood mare. Prefer a thicker build around 16.2 hh, but height is not necessary if build is appropriate. The mare needs to be breedable sound (has to be sound enough to waddle to the gate and accept treats), and not have a history of severe reproductive complications (dystocia, etc.) I will be breeding for a keeper foal for the amateur jumpers. The mare will be pampered, well taken care of, and given a forever home if you wish. She will have health insurance, so no medical option will be left off the table. I am not looking for a “freeby” as I am more than willing to pay for a good broodmare.

Also, I would be willing to take a mare with the stipulation of trading for an embryo flush baby if she has the ideal show record.

WANTED Recipient mare to lease for upcoming season. Will provide wonderful care and will be boarded and cared for at a top breeding facility. Would prefer a mare that is not a maiden (preferably foaled last or this year), good temperament, and at least pasture sound. Please PM me for more information. Located in southern Louisiana.

Looking for an ET recip mare lease for 2014, between 4-10, has had at least 1 foal. Easy to handle, good mom, easy foaler. Vet home, well established breeding program, references available. Located in MD

Young Welsh mare for free lease - located in Martinsburg, WV

Very well-bred registered Welsh Section A mare looking for a lessee until 2015, use as a broodmare. Satin is a very sweet mare with excellent conformation and would be easy to train for riding (if wanted to have a little project). This is a perfect opportunity to lease a quality welsh mare for free with only one stipulation… want her bred back (whether to the same stallion lessee used or another same quality stallion). Satin is still a maiden never bred, but is healthy with good heat cycles. Would be suitable for live cover or AI breeding. She is not for sale only lease. Lease can be extended for further years.

Registered 2011 Section A not recently measured, but is close to 11.2 hands. Chestnut sabino.

I have reduced the amount of mares being bred on my farm and didn’t want her going to waste another year or more.

I can’t believe I’m about to post this … this mare is my heart …

Black and white Art Deco mare for lease. 17hh, 10 years old, approved Oldenburg NA. Heterozygous for pinto and homozygous for black.

Has had 3 babies for me so far and expecting one more. All 3 have been large, loudly marked pinto colts, very friendly, sweet dispositions. Breeding and foalings have been uncomplicated. She is a very good mom, attentive without being protective.

Her 2013 colt was the reserve champion of his inspection (out of 17 foals presented). Christian said, and I quote, “Don’t give all the credit to the stallion. You could cover this mare with a donkey and still get a premium foal.”

Due to foal in May, and I could breed her back to a stallion of your choice. You take possession after my baby is weaned.

I’d be happy to send pictures or pedigree information to anyone who may be interested.

Currently located in Kansas; I will be moving to California in July. Would strongly prefer a lessor within a reasonable distance of Kansas City, so that she doesn’t have to travel, or in Northern California, so that she can be near me. Will consider other locations but it would be really hard for me to part with her that far.

If it works out for everyone involved, opportunity to continue the lease for 4 years or more (as long as I am in school.)

Phenomenal homes only, obviously.

Please email, as I’m not on these forums very often anymore:

FOR SALE OR LEASE:

2001 GOV Registered/ Approved MMB mare: Roxannah
16.2-3 hands (does tend to throw TALL), Bay, two hind socks and a star. “Bailey” has had 4 foals. Conceived with both fresh and frozen semen. Easy and uncomplicated pregnancies. She is a beautiful mare, throws a lot of jump in her offspring, but they can move too!!! She is not riding sound, but does not require any special maintenance. She is for sale by NO FAULT OF HER OWN. I am no longer breeding warmbloods, and I don’t feel that she is the right “type” to breed for pony crosses. I REALLY adore this mare, so a good home is a MUST. She is by Royal Appearance (Riverman/ Lord Calando) and out of a Grannus/ Karthago dam. She has a maternal half sister by Cor Noir that is an EMC. Her 4 foals have been by Rubino Bellissimo, Landfriese II, Wamberto, and Sempatico (the last two were custom foals). I am open to selling her to the PERFECT home, or leasing her. My on site lease fee is $400/month. This includes feed, farrier, vaccines, deworming, and foaling out. I am not opposed to letting her go off site to the PERFECT situation. This mare was sold (back in June), and the buyer has just now backed out… sooo, here we are. I am more than happy to provide lots more photos of Bailey, and her offspring.

Located near Sacramento, CA.

My website is doing some wacky things right now, so hopefully you can see this photo on Facebook:

Two registered, papered Thoroughbred mares in Washington state.

  1. homozygous black. 16-16.1 hands, built like a QH. 2002 model. Easy breeder and foals easily without issue. Will be ready to breed in about 2 weeks. MUST go to experienced, patient handler - she requires it.

  2. chestnut with chrome. 16.1 hands, very long-bodied. 1995 model. Super easy breeder, catches first time every time. Her babies have all made excellent sporthorses, not - sadly - racehorses.

Can email photos of the mares and their babies upon request. Delivery available. Care lease on contract.

I might have what your looking for. I have an Oldenburg 16.3hh 10yrs old and has had 2 foals. Both big. Where are you located?

Wanted … Welsh mare

I’m starting to look for a registered Welsh pony mare to lease for breeding for a couple of years, something in the 12 to 13 hand range, not gray, that could be approved for RPSI sportpony registry. Pasture sound is fine, reasonably close to Kentucky, would come to my farm. Not critical, just thinking about options right now, but if the right mare was available, I’d be interested.

For [edit] free lease in the LA county area!

Chestnut with chrome (blaze & socks) Selle Francais passported 2004 mare, Sired by Fuego Du Prelet (Jalisco out of a dam by Florian (Furioso). Located in Los Angeles county. Broodmare prospect deluxe, 15.3h, show record up to 1m. Sound for trail or light riding. She damaged her deep & superficial tendon. She has been rehabbed over a year now, but I am only [offering] her as a broodmare prospect or for light riding. [edit]

JC registered mare available

16 hand, 5 yr old chestnut TB mare. Registered name is Whoopsie by Roman Ruler out of Whoopddoo. This mare came late in the summer from an advanced level rider who had gotten her and started her retraining. Unfortunately she has small chips in her RF ankle and R hock. She is sound to be ridden w/t/c, good self carriage and has been on trails. She is currently nursing a tendon strain, approximately 48 hours now. Due to my own personal injury (cast and possible surgery) I don’t have the ability to care for her leg properly. Beautiful mover, sweet personality. Looking for a broodmare/light riding home for her. Please email me @ Tenley@aol.com or text me 302-542-2492. Mare is located in Lewes, DE.

looking for a WB mare that is more of an older style

I am starting to look around for a mare to lease for 2014/2015. I prefer an older style, big bodied mare - no TB ladies, sorry! Approved preferred.

Stallion has amazing temperament, 17h, Westfalen, with super long legs. He needs improvement in his hindend, could use a longer neck and legs must be very correct.

I am open to ideas/situations. Looking to breed in June.

Please PM me.
Thanks
Darcy

I have a feeling I know the stallion Darcy is breeding to  A cross with an old style WB made to him and those amazing lines would be superb. Will keep my ears open.

Looking for a broodmare lease in the Pacific NW or Northern CA for the 14/15 season. Prefer thoroughbred or lighter built warmblood, but would also consider a Welsh Cob. Breeding to North Forks Cardi http://www.winterlakewelsh.com/stallion.html.
