Has it been mentioned here that MDC posted on their FB page their support of Marilyn and are deleting all negative comments? Sorry this is a long thread and I don’t know if it was posted. The Jumping Percheron had it on her FB page.

c’mon that newbie poster made a tool out of himself and deserves the ribbing!!!
my computer seems to think that’s a screen-shot for ants… is there something bigger available?
Man I wish I could read that better but I get the I try to follow the rules. In these cases I don’t doubt that. What I would like her and other riders to get behind is the idea that the rules aren’t good and we don’t need to have or allow cut and bloody mouths in any FEI discipline in competition. and we have to have a rule because apparently that isn’t self-evident.
She did pull RF Demeter who was doing quite well with her new rider (Hannah Sue Burnett) until other, ah, circumstances arose.
I can not read the image that @alittlegray posted. Can someone post a larger version or tell us what it says?
Just go to FB:
https://www.facebook.com/marilynlittleequestrian/
or here’s the text she wrote and posted 2 hrs ago:
"First, I want to offer my sincere regret for the negative attention this has brought to the horses and sport that we all love, as well as the pressure that is being put on my personal sponsors. I could never achieve any success in this sport without my horses, my incredible support team, the people who make this sport great, and the sponsors who help me along the way.
I tried my very best to be transparent in every possible way in Kentucky and followed our sport’s protocol in the best interest of my horse. My horse was checked multiple times by FEI officials: after the Dressage, before the start of cross country, again at the finish, and at the second horse inspection on Sunday morning, and at all times was passed fit to continue.
I believe very deeply in following the rules our sport has in place and am beyond devastated by the comments and negative perception of how my horses are cared for. I love my horses very, very much and their happiness and wellbeing mean the world to me. I want to personally thank the officials doing their jobs to keep our sport fair and safe, as well as my sponsors and those who have stood by me at this time."-Marilyn
After reading alittlegrays post, I am at the point where she simply needs to be set down and barred from our sport. Heck, from any horse sport. This is appalling. I will continue to call and email the sponsors, usef, fei.
ENOUGH.
I can’t get that vision from my mind about that horse being so exhausted and her oyshinh any way.
I know I am ridiculous, but I am so grateful to my,horse for carting me around at n and t, I could never imagine treat,g him this way. Yes we all make mistakes, and stuff happens, but this seems to be an individual with a proven history if abuse. I have no interest in a personal attack on her. I just want her to not be around horses. Shame on her.
That PR person earned their check this week
Again, not a whit of apology to the horse for being harmed and drawing blood. Not even a speck of contrition or ownership that she might have caused it, nor any regret whatsoever towards the horse for harming her.
Just more of the same “here is why I’m right and you guys are all wrong”.
me too but someone retyped it, thank you!
Exactly. And that’s why this can’t be about Marilyn Little because she’s exactly right, she’s within the rules as currently written, and those rules are bad for horses and very very bad for a sport that already has HUGE pr problems.
An attempt to stop the bleeding away of sponsors has to be accompanied by a statement of how she will stop the bleeding of her horses. THAT is what the statement needed to address, but didn’t.
This statement is in denial. It doesn’t acknowledge the problems of the past, before Kentucky 2018. It’s like all the blood never happened.
It talks about following rules without acknowledging several egregious and silly rules violations of the past, that were publicly seen and remembered.
This statement does nothing to build credibility with the critical public who are pressuring organizations and sponsors. In fact, by not addressing a PLAN and a WILLINGNESS to CHANGE, it does more harm than good. Credibility will only start to accrue with an admission of past sins and an explanation of growth and change. The past has to be acknowledged to make it begin to creep away, slowly.
I don’t agree that some publicist earned their check, at all. It doesn’t come off well except to people who are already supporters - who are probably the target audience. And it may really be a wave at the sponsors that are still with her (for now).
Thank you @alittlegray . You are really very brave. [edit]
@pieradill - you seem very earnest in your attempt to paint Marilyn Little as a caring/responsible horsewoman. Let me guess - you have always been an owner of an operation. You’ve never worked for a trainer (and your parents paying a trainer for you to “work” for that trainer does not apply) - really seen what goes on behind the scenes before the owners arrive (or after). Or else you have no problem with tying a horses head to it’s tail, polling in and of itself, but then polling with carpet tacking. You have had opportunity to view the same pictures of Kitty’s bridling for the dressage last week at Kentucky. And that’s OK with you?
You think that because Marilyn Little can get this horse around the ULs, that we should all overlook the price the horses pay in order for her to do so? She did try to ride in a normal set up after the Fair Hill debacle a couple of years ago - when the horse came in with the bloody mouth. She could not control/ride the horses with a more normal set up, didn’t take the time to redevelop her skill set so that she could do it, so she went back to her barbaric bitting and bridling and yanking and pulling before the jumps, and the bloody mouths continue, the inhumane bridling continues. But you are OK with that because she is your friend and you take lessons from the same person, etc?
How naive and shallow are you? Ms. Little’s training regimen is par of the course in the h/j world. I know all about it. I’ve seen it up close and personal. [edit] I’m sorry but you and all of her sponsors, friends on FB, the USEF, and FEI are all complicit in enabling her. Get real.

That would be fine if that was the only usage but there are DOZENS indicating the phrase goes back to before the French Revolution. I’ve read it many times in novels. It just makes COTH look silly.
oh my goodness! I just commented on chapeau as I thought it meant hat! I have never heard it used as you said. I didn’t pick up that her trainer was french. And as for the German (won’t try to spell it again!) I just thought it was a mistake in what was said. small flurry in a big pool. ((bowing out now!))
About the blood and fences, there was blood seen after fence 3 then again at the end of the course, the photos going around are from the 2nd last fence.
This is a little off topic, but it just clicked in my mind.
No wonder Kelley Farmer and ML do business together. I just thought about the RF Amber Eyes/ Fonteyn debacle and both of these “riders” are outright making a mockery of the USEF.
With these two being lauded as “top of the sport” I’m ready to give up all together.

COTH is silly. But even more silly is the cult of personality noob coming on here to tell us (again) that we’re all just jealous
