Bumping thread so it doesn’t die. SKM who wrote the Coth piece mentioned on her FB that she has heard rule changes are coming down the pipe. Anyone want to guess for purely speculation reasons what they might be?
I know nothing, but I will speculate that it will be the least possible change, perhaps a “verbal warning” for bleeding from the head. Enough so they can say ‘look, we changed it! We did something!’ but not enough to actually, you know, do anything. Status quo, a slap on the wrist to placate the calls for action.
Let’s just go ahead and sign that death warrant for the sport right now.
Somehow in my internet wanderings, I found the FEI spreadsheet ‘List of Eventing Warnings’. On the Older Sanctions tab, I found a couple for ML from 2013. One is from the CIC3* at Allentown (Jersey Fresh) in May 2013 riding RF Demeter. She got a verbal warning for “Abuse of horse / excessive use of bit after jumping”.
Also got a yellow card for leaving the Kentucky 4* the prior month (April 2013) - had a fall from RF Demeter and left the venue without submitting to exam by Official Medical Officer.
Not trying to dredge up old dirt, just noted that these older incidents haven’t come up in her history as recounted in various places.
So why doesn’t the GJ have a copy of the spreadsheet at every “star” competition so they know who has been warned before? Available on the interweb if not hard copy.
I seem to recall some talk a year or so ago from the FEI (maybe last October or November?)after blood incidents in dressage and showjumping that they were considering abandoning disqualification in those sports and changing their rules to GJ Discretion. The discussion should be easily found by internet search.
I think the new header post above the forums is very interesting. (See Update to Forum Rules: CRIMINAL ALLEGATIONS)
So you can publicly describe a criminal activity if you sign your name. That’s interesting. Now I always sign my name because I’m not afraid to, but this could be very interesting.
@alittlegray gotta think you have a leg to stand on here.
Em
Yes, I am aware they updated the rules and I will likely be restoring my OP when I get home. I’m not afraid of Marilyn and Co., at this point half of their C&D is flat out wrong and the other half is serious revisionist history and threats to go “on the record” like they don’t have way more to fear from being asked difficult questions under oath.
I am still looking for an attorney who would have the relevant background here. I appreciate those who have suggested Stormy Daniels’ attorney Avenatti, but he won’t have time for us.
If anyone actually speaks to ms. Daniels, I would love to ask her a couple questions tho.
Stormy is super nice, intelligent and a horsewoman. Most humble but to the point, factual. Look at what she asked for and where it’s going.
I digress…with fame comes power. A power that is blinding. Blind to rules, but open to loopholes to get around rules. When money is at stake, when winning is at stake…greed overcomes.
I would love to interview with Ms. Daniels. And interview Marilyn. She has dissapeared from social media.
Nope, she sure hasn’t…she took her FB down for a few days, but it’s back already. And full of praise from USET for winning the Pinnacle Cup trophy.
Even took down her “apology” regarding the blood in the mouth of Scandalous.
hadn’t seen anything…USET needs to be smacked upside the head!
What I find interesting is how on Marilyn’s website, the only broken link is for “Sponsors”. All the others are active links that actually go somewhere.
So who are her sponsors?
I think she was contacted by quite a few to take their names down as they didn’t actually sponsor her.
Rumours are circulating on Facebook that the FEI has made a stance and they ARE looking into new rules regarding blood and the use of the whip.
Armchair quarterbacks rejoice. ULRs may not care for our opinions but it looks like the governing bodies are smart enough to realize where their $$$ comes from.
Pretty much the same ones; I got a wimpy response from Fabbri saying they didn’t have any “active promotions involving the rider and are focusing on other members of the Fabbri family.” I took that to mean they don’t have the stones to actually come down on one side or other of the issue.
Still waiting to hear back from Samshield, hoping against hope they will do the right thing.
But it’s interesting she took down the list of sponsors - since there were several listed on her site that actually made public statements that they had previously ended their relationship with her, I guess they just took the whole thing down until they could get it cleaned up.
Am surprised at Fabbri…they made my boots as a junior in Italy and I would expect them to speak up. One is either for the horse or against the horse.
Agreed; instead she won an award… USET/USEF/USEA…none, that I have seen, have said a word. Rulebooks preach welfare of horse just not horsemanship.
My guess is she wants to hide her remaining sponsors so people won’t know who they are and send them messages. Most people would go directly to her site to see who sponsors her.
Just to clarify, the BHS is not the federation. The BHS is a charity for general equestrian safety/welfare/education issues. The BHS is part of the larger British Equestrian Federation.
British Eventing is the national governing body for eventing in the UK. It is also part of the BEF umbrella organization but has purview over eventing.
This was my thought too.
If people can not see who her sponsors are then they can not contact them about her.
But why would a brand/business sponsor a rider if that rider couldn’t publicize them as a sponsor for fear of public outcry?
Doesn’t seem to make sense from the sponsors’ POV. No ROI there.
BTW, I think Jealoushe posted a list of sponsors upthread so they can’t hide from the angry hordes.
I sent a link to this post to Stormy. Hopefully she’ll have some time to message you!
