A couple of the American riders have been riding in UK. I believe Cosby Green has been based with the Prices - she and Tim Price are entered. Grace Taylor is also an American rider based in UK. Lillian Heard Wood is entered on LCC Barnaby. I would be surprised in Boyd rides the 3 he’s got entered, and wonder if Harry Meade will bring both horses. The thing with the US riders going to Europe, especially the UK, there are a lot of events in relatively close proximity. And I agree with the earlier post about the USEF calendar. We’ve lost Great Meadow and I think a couple of other venues are trying to get that date but who knows.
The one thing we all need to remember is to do our best to support competition venues - even if you don’t compete - supporting them with donations helps keep these competition venues afloat. I
Best of luck! I’ll be at the in gate for YEH (and stabling for much of the week) before YEH.
Thanks, and thank you for volunteering!
Good luck!
that’s so exciting!!! Good luck have the best time!!
There actually aren’t that many US riders going overseas. Some of the ones that are competing overseas are actually based there. If you look at the entries there were 6 Americans at Badminton, 5 at Burghley and 2 at Luhmuhlen. A more accurate assessment would be that Americans just really are doing a lot in the 5* level no matter where it is held.

I haven’t seen an entry list for the Morven Park 4* yet, I wonder how many felt a 4* was a better fit for their house or schedule? It’s the week before.
Please vote for Ninja! Voting ends tonight (Oct 4) at midnight!
I was kind of wondering why Sydney Elliott (among many others) didn’t have Q entered at MD, then I saw an IG post of her on crutches which may explain it.
I will sadly have to miss this year, which is a shame because it really is a wonderful spectator experience. If you’re on the fence about getting tickets, or are thinking of just popping in for a day, I encourage you to do it! (Isn’t the COTH motto “To aid and abet”? )
A huge thanks to @Texarkana and all the other wonderful volunteers who donate their time and energy!
Good luck, @EventerAJ! Am I correct in remembering you chronicling a Bodacious Barb colt in the 2020 foal watch thread? (That thread was one of my favorite lockdown reads!) How exciting to see your young man all growed up!
Yes, that’s him! Barb is expecting a full sibling in late April, so stay tuned for the 2025 foal watch thread.
I’m super hype for this year. We’re heading down early Friday morning, my big task for the weekend is to get fitted for a new dressage helmet. My current one is um……slightly….over the 5-year mark 🫢 so it’s time.
Fair Hill Saddlery is awesome at fitting helmets!
That’s where I got my skullcap, the CO fitters are A+++++.
Did you get a MIPS one?

The Paynes have been buying horses young and developing them for years now and have found it beneficial to take their young eventers along to jumper shows with their rising jumpers. It’s also part of the lifelong eventer’s long-term strategy to switch sports entirely, migrating gradually from events to the jumper ring.
“Business wise, we’ve got three event horses left—these two [Quantum Leap and Camarillo] and a horse called Quiberon, a stallion, that’ll do the Tryon [CCI4*-L (North Carolina)],” he said. “We’ve had all those guys since they were babies, so we’ll try to roll out until whenever they’re done. Everything else we have right now is jumping.”
No, I got the CO 4Star. The MIPS skullcap didn’t fit me at all.
