Massage/Percussion Gun

I got a Legiral massage gun off of Amazon. 16mm amplitude. 2 hour battery run time. 20 settings. Pretty quiet. 10 min shut off (which is fine for me, otherwise I would probably waste 30 minutes each time!) Horses like it and I LOVE it. It really makes a difference in how the horses feel when I get on.

If you order it off of Amazon today they have a $20 coupon, so it would be $109.99.

Thanks for the heads up, I_Z_S. I just ordered one from Amazon using the coupon. Has excellent reviews.

I picked one up at a Supermarket. On clearance for $89.00. It is fairly quiet. Came with 5 attachments and 3 intensities. The battery lasts 1.5 hours. It stops after 10 minutes.

I will introduce to the horses tonight. So far I love it. Hubby hates it.

I am using a Booster Massage Gun Lightsaber to help recover my muscle pains since I am working in construction industry.

So, semi zombie thread here. But I have a question for those who use these on their horses. Is there benefit to using it immediately following exercise? I still need to do some research. The times I’ve used one on myself, it was after the muscle is already balled up and tight. The release was pretty substantial. But I haven’t tried it on freshly exerted muscles. I’m sure the answer lies somewhere in a google search. But worth an ask here, in a diverse group with some substantial experience, in both horses and humans.

I had a coworker who ran ultra marathons (100 miles +). She always got a massage right after the race, but I’ve no idea of the science. She said it kept her from getting tight or cramping up, but also an ultramarathon is different than a 30 minute jump school, I think.

My gelding seems to loves it any time; he’s really been getting into it lately haha.

Percussion gun aside; my bodyworker has me hit a couple spots just with my hands to warm up/wake up muscles before I ride him.

I should try that. Not that I’m doing anything near a marathon of any sorts, this actually makes me feel quite minuscule  But I do have an old ankle injury that creates tight calf issues that could benefit. So I could experiment on myself by treating after a ride or run or whatever is bothering me at the moment, rather than waiting for it to get tight and balled up.

I have one that i use and i absolutely love it. Its very lightweight as i have hand weakness and i can go over an entire horse body without issue. It is cordless and holds a charge forever even sitting in the barn in winter. Numerous speeds.

I would never consider using one on muscles that are not previously warmed up.

My program, always, is to start with a 15 minute walk only warm up and ens the same, and then use the massager on warm muscles to aid in exercise recovery.

My OTTB loooooooves it and will position his body to where i need to work

Could you post a link? I have a Theragun and it is wayyyyyyy too strong for my horse. Was hoping to find something a little more gentle that she might like.
