Well obviously, YOU don’t think YOU would try to help protect a sympathetic defendant against proven predators. That certainly says a lot about you.

Thankfully many other people do not share that sentiment.

Lol. I would never presume that I would know better than anyone what kind of mental health treatment a complete stranger needs, and I would never break my oath as a juror to impose a stay in a state run mental health facility (these are notoriously horrible places) for an indeterminate amount of time unless I truly thought that the defendant committed the crime but was insane at the time and therefore not criminally responsible. That is the kind of person I am, and I am proud of that.

I am just saying that Eggbutt, the dominant poster on these threads, is not simply a random Internet poster with no ties to the principals. It appears she has been in communication with Lara Osborne as recently as September. Lara Osborne communicates with MB and his lawyers.

And even if this is true, SO WHAT? What difference does it make? What point are you trying to make?

Revealing proof of her long-term and continuous use of narcotics, which are banned under FEI rules, would get her banned.

I know there are a few who were suspended for drug use (Lamaze is one, twice, after being named to the Olympic Team but went on to win Gold years later), after testing positive, but have not heard of a full ban over drug use outside of competition. Do you know of any examples?

I might be misremembering, but I believe Eric’s positives were tests performed by Team Canada, not FEI, in advance of the games. From what I can find, it was overturned in arbitration, but after the Atlanta games.

Was that brought up in testimony?

It’s been posted about but I don’t remember if it was stated at trial. I don’t think so as her arrest record wasn’t either. But it will in the civil trial for sure!!

Oh for sure it will be brought up in the civil trial. But I am pretty sure it wasn’t mentioned in the criminal trial. Taylor would not have allowed it, and I am also guessing that MB did not know about it until he got the report from the PI (and Taylor didn’t allow much testimony about that either).

I doubt testimony about LK’s previous marriage and its demise would have been allowed in the trial. Taylor would have said she wasn’t on trial so it wasn’t allowed. How many freakin’ sidebars would that have caused if Bilinkas had even attempted to introduce that???

Now the civil trial??? That is gonna be a whole new animal!!!
