Did they? I had forgotten that part.
Did the judge decide to exclude him as a witness?

Did the judge decide to exclude him as a witness?
I really appreciate this post. I think it captures one of the most troubling aspects of this saga. LK and RG come off as particularly hollow. That lack of essence is filled with bile (figuratively) instead.
āImpeached on the witness standā is not the same as committing perjury.
Sdel:It was also interesting that the prosecution intended to call George Morris as a witness. Does anyone wonder what implications the prosecution was going to be making there?

I think the prosecution declined to call him. There was some discussion about it at one point where the judge formally dismissed him as a witness. He also had a subpoena filed in FL like MHG, LK, and RG.
I do believe that at one point during the trial they set up the intro to some nasty implications by pointing out Morrisā ban that happened only a few days before the shooting affected Michael because Morris was a big influence on him. The brunt of the sexual allegations/abuse claims LK made against MB involve MHGās son. And no, I donāt know what is in the complaint, but LK did post online sexual allegations against MB.
Interesting, thanks.
I donāt know how it would have affected the case, but there probably would have been some entertainment value in seeing Schellhorn try to question GM. He might have found GM to be a little tougher subject than the teenage working student.
@jvanrens, ever since I learned about javelinas in the wildlife thread, every time I see your screen name my brain turns it into Javelina. Which it clearly is not, I realize.
I donāt think there are any of those in Holland or Canada where my parents chose to settle, but on the wrong day I could possibly be mistaken for one.
jvanrens: Angela_Freda: hut-ho78:Hindsight, maybe he should have evicted MH and RC (along with her gun), calmed LK down and kept RG working to repair the house. At least he was getting some board from LK as compared to none from MH.
Pretty crazy huh? Makes you wonder what someone is smoking?
Evicting your partner and a person who is actually contributing to the finances of the facility by teaching lessons, training and helping sell horses, not to mention increasing the barns status by showing successfully? Who would do that?
Did you miss her testimony. She was not contributing except by schooling horses.
And thatās not a useful member of a training barn how?
And thatās not a useful member of a training barn how?
Not as useful as chasing off paying customers and letting your dog scare/bite people, apparently. /s
Regarding javelinas- you never know what you might learn here on the BB on any given day.
hut-ho78:The 8-9 concussions, his age, the divorce with the added business partner breakup, the cash flow issues, the freeze and living conditions with no one to help him through this, the deluge of hysteria in the information coming in from grudge holders against LK (who were not sued by JK nor at all frightened of him), he was all alone.
Itās funny how people can come away with such divergent viewpoints from the same information.
You frequently mention that MB suffered a significant number of concussions. Can you please remind me what evidence there is for that? I admit that I have not viewed the trial recently so I may have forgotten.
I donāt understand what you mean about his age? I understood him to be a healthy, middle aged man?
His business had the regular, ordinary cashflow of that type of business which he had been managing for years. That was in MHGās evidence.
I understood there to have been a gap of a few years between the ending of his marriage/business partnership and the events of that summer. I donāt recall any of the doctors claiming that the beak up of his marriage had any impact on his mental health.
Do you have any knowledge of what information MB received from people who had been targeted by LK in the past? Either as to volume per your depiction of it as a deluge or content? Again maybe this is an example of a divergent viewpoint. When I think of what GJ shared here, I would not characterize it as a āgrudgeā.
You also stressed that he was alone. Funny, as I watched the trial, one of the strong impressions I came away with was how much support he had. First, his partner, who you curiously think he should have evicted in favour of the person who was causing him so much distress. RC came specifically to provide support. MHGās father came to support them. His hayman, in the height of hay season was willing to work nights providing security - I remember thinking when I watched the trial what a good friend he was and how exhausted he must have been.I have no horse in this race and donāt see MB as a saint, but it was clear to me in the criminal trial that he had the support and respect of his colleagues, his former partner, former clients and working pupils. I found it really telling that people who did work for him like the hayman and the woman who worked for the town held him in high regard. It led me to conclude that he is a decent person who treats everyone with dignity and respect.
After watching the trial, I concluded that LK leads a very isolated life primarily using SM for social interaction. Even her life partner seems to be paid for. And she is someone who appears arrested in her normal development. Eg her reliance on her father to handle fairly routine life functions like arranging board for her horses or finding a place to live.
There is an expression that no good deed goes unpunished. I think that is the situation here. MB extended a kindness of allowing LK to live at the barn, because she had cashflow problems. She then unleashed a series of bizarre and harmful actions because she felt slighted.
And if I might add to this comment, a mutual vet disclosed that they dropped LK as a client, prior to the incident, because, in their words, she was crazy.
I recall from the earlier threads that there was a vet who would no longer accept her as a client.
Waiting for this barge to tilt [back] to MHG destroying his marriage and income insecurity. I feel some of the players, particularly Schelhorn and the Kās, were clueless about major league barns.

Please stop marginalizing the job of schooling horses. The vast majority of amateurs need their horses schooled - especially if they are unable to ride during the week. And if Iām not mistaken, Iām pretty sure she trained clients.
Ok
trubandloki: hut-ho78: MorganSercu:Yes, but you are not a known, proven liar while under oath on the witness stand.
Who has been proven to have committed perjury on the witness stand? Is this another trial?ached
I do believe the point being made is that Lauren Kanark and Robert Guy Goodwin/Jim E Starks were both impeached on the stand at the criminal trial.
āImpeached on the witness standā is not the same as committing perjury.
Did I say they were the same thing?
Rhetorical question, because we both know the answer is no.
They both were shown to be untruthful. More than once.
Please stop marginalizing the job of schooling horses. The vast majority of amateurs need their horses schooled - especially if they are unable to ride during the week. And if Iām not mistaken, Iām pretty sure she trained clients.
And we know of at least one ammy at Michaelās barn who was known to not ride their own horses very much so clearly they needed schooling rides.
Did you miss her testimony. She was not contributing except by schooling horses.
However she had several clients who were, RC for example. And wrt DD, having that successful horse boarding/training and thus represent your barn has other benefits too.
And we know of at least one ammy at Michaelās barn who was known to not ride their own horses very much so clearly they needed schooling rides
And we also know that one specific ammy didnāt like MHG riding her horses or training her. Nonetheless, MHG attempted to do some training with her.

So we clearly know that certain posters did not follow the testimony and missed key points.

Yes. Except RC had to be there on behalf of the prosecution to aid her own case but her testimony was pro MB. And LK lived there because her father threatened Mzb so that would happen.
You frequently mention that MB suffered a significant number of concussions. Can you please remind me what evidence there is for that? I admit that I have not viewed the trial recently so I may have forgotten.
Not to defend HH, but I do believe there was discussion about MB having suffered concussions, as well as abuse, related to his mental health and the impressive standing he has reached in the Equestrian community in spite of that challenge.
.
Someone who has watched more recently please correct me if Iāve gotten that wrong.
And if Iām not mistaken, Iām pretty sure she trained clients.
For sure, she was.
Wasnāt part of LKās problem that she objected to being trained by MHG instead of MB?
