MB CIVIL SUIT UPDATE #10 K’s Request to Adjourn (delay) DENIED 11/01/22

I have a family member who was a senior exec at Jefferies for decades. I’ll have to ask if they know him and what role he had there.

I recall someone posting something to that effect some time back. I can’t remember if it was a screenshot of one of LK’s posts, or if the person was describing something she had seen posted elsewhere. And I believe the same post said that LK had stated that she had been an “event planner” and that her job involved a lot of flying from place to place. Of course, the veracity of any of that is up in the air, given her penchant for lying, obfuscation, embellishment, etc.

I agree with you.

Sometimes someone may search for posts and activity out of fear of the person they are searching. Victims become quite concerned about the whereabouts and activity of their predator.

Knowledge is power.

Gifted money is not claimed as income by the recipient. If the gift is over the non-reportable amount (I believe it is $15,000 this year) then the gifter has to file a gift tax return. This does not mean that they pay taxes, it is just that they let the IRS know that they have now dipped into their lifetime gifting/inheritance amount (which is currently around $10 million). So if you gave @ekat $20,000, you would file a gift tax return and the IRS would know that you now have a gifting/inheritance limit of the $10 million minus $5000.

Now if @ekat is married, you can gift @ekat’s partner $15,000 and @ekat $15,000 as well, and there is no gift tax reporting. And if you have a spouse, your spouse can gift $15,000 to @ekat and to @ekat’s spouse and there is no gift tax return due. So, if you really like @ecat and you are both married, you can gift @ekat $60,000 per year and not need to file a gift tax return.

And, if you are feeling exceptionally generous, I am married, so have that higher gifting limit! lol

ETA: @ekat clarified that the non-reportable gifting limit is now $16,000. (I retired a little over a year ago and have not kept up with current numbers.)

Actually…

I wonder if that would be allowed if all the horses are owned by family members. Amateurs can ride and show horses that belong to their relatives and still be amateurs. I’m not sure how the payment for services would factor in there under the USEF amateur rules.

I saw “YD” and thought, "why would @carolpudm be paying for Yankee Duchess’s wedding!

I’d certainly hope anyone reporting “suspicion” has proof of their suspicion or proof of nefarious behavior. The prosecutor for the state said there was zero evidence.

Same. Lol.

Who is allowed to attend oral arguments if they take place? Is it just the participating attorneys? Or can other interested parties be present?

I believe the safe sport training does not say that proof is required in order to file a report.

And I would think that if you see something that really looks suspicious, it’s better to report it and let the authorities investigate it, rather than wait until you might have ironclad proof a year or two down the road. Who knows how much damage could be done to a child in the meantime?

Hearings are usually open to the public unless the subject is sensitive in nature….the Krol hearing was supposed to be closed. Anyone can sit in on one if they know when and where it’s going to be.

Who’s up for a road trip?!?

I don’t believe in filing reports unless there is proof of child abuse or something substantial to indicate potential child abuse. Someone who looks at someone and is suspicious of their character is not enough. They need to see something that is questionable to warrant a report. That to me is proof to some degree.

Ok. Maybe we have different ideas of the meaning of the word proof. Otherwise it sounds like we are saying basically the same thing.

I’m thinking of a hypothetical situation with, say, a trainer and a minor student where it looks like there is an inappropriate relationship going on between them. In my mind, proof would involve pictures of them together in a compromising situation, or receipts that show they were staying in the same hotel room, or what have you.

Not just seeing them together in a situation that looks shady, which still might be enough of a reason to file a report with safe sport so they can look into it.

Mentally speaking, is anyone hungry? If so, I have some food for thought that I would be happy to share with you, about the antics of one Robert Guy Goodwin, in the quaint little hamlet of Livingston, NJ…

In the year 1997, on the 28th day of May, Robert Guy Goodwin broke into the home of an ex-girlfriend, to burglarize her home. While inside her home and in the process of his burglarizing, she returned to her home, whereupon she discovered Robert Guy Goodwin in the act of burglarizing her home. Upon discovering that he had been discovered by his former girlfriend, Robert Guy Goodwin proceeded to attack his former girlfriend, who fought him off and escaped the home, to summon the Police. Robert Guy Goodwin, being an intellectual powerhouse that defies both description and logic, did not flee the area and instead toddled over to the woods, across from the house, believing that he would not be caught and could soon return to his former girlfriend’s home to resume his burglarizing. A short time later, two nice Police officers arrived and located Robert Guy Goodwin in his special hiding place in the woods. Upon being discovered, Robert Guy Goodwin threw a temper-tantrum and attacked the nice Police officers, which made them subdue him with force and he was taken by them to the nearest Police station.

In the early darkness of Monday, January 29th, 2001, Robert Guy Goodwin and a friend were driving around Livingston, up to no good. Robert Guy Goodwin and his friend were physically stalking and pursuing a 16-year old girl, who was with her boyfriend at the time, driving home from a late-night convenience store run, where they had apparently encountered Robert Guy Goodwin and his friend and they had “shown interest” in the 16-year old girl, which was rebuffed by the girl and her boyfriend. Feeling upset and enraged by her refusal and dismissal, Robert Guy Goodwin and his friend proceeded to follow the couple to the girl’s home, in their vehicle. Eventually, the boyfriend noticed that Robert Guy Goodwin and his friend were following them, turn-for-turn, and exited the vehicle, telling his girlfriend to drive up the street, away from the two pursuers, while he delayed them there. The 16-year old girl drove up the street and called the Police as Robert Guy Goodwin and his friend exited their vehicle and began to attack the girl’s boyfriend, two against one. A short time later, some nice Police officers arrived and took all three of them into custody, taking Robert Guy Goodwin and the girl’s boyfriend to the nearest Hospital, to have their various injuries treated by some nice medical professionals. After their boo-boos were taken care of, both of them were taken to the Police station, where Robert Guy Goodwin threw a temper-tantrum and destroyed a desk.

Sufficed to say, Robert Guy Goodwin got no real punishment for either of those incidents. Any thoughts?

Where did those events fall on the timeline of his relationship with LK? Prior to it?

Also, how old was RG in 2001? That behavior is remarkably gross and creepy and stupid even if everybody involved is around 16. It’s a lot worse if the parties are in completely different age groups.

Thank you very much for that well-written response letting @trubandloki know how generous they can be!!

She would have been in HS for the first one and I’m not sure about the second. I don’t know the timeline of their relationship, but they didn’t live too far away from one another and have apparently known one another since their childhood days, supposedly becoming a couple some years after she abandoned college for NC.

In 2001, he was 23, as was his friend. The 16-year old girl’s boyfriend was 22.
