I would have to disagree with your assessment. An order of protection may be put into place and ongoing reports will be arranged with the Florida mental health professional chosen, but courts like resolution and getting this case done would be desirable to the Court.

Can there be orders of protection by both parties against one another? I could foresee LK/RG et al. trying to set MB up.

Yes. The problem is they’ll be issued in NJ and the parties are all in FL so enforcing them is tricky.
Normally if the order is violated the police come and arrest the violator. This would require Florida take action according to the act committed and then any Judge considering the order and potentially issuing one in Florida too.
But if the order says parties are to be 100 feet apart and someone comes within 50 ft then although they are violating the order, it’s not enforceable as that is not a crime.
Unless Florida decides to recognize the order.

Why can’t both parties go to a Florida court and ask for protective orders?
Edited: I could see LK going to court and saying MB followed her down there, crying and carrying on in front of a judge, when in reality Florida has been his home turf for many years.

A major flaw in your assumptions is Michael Barisone was found not guilty. I’m sure Taylor and the Kanareks will do everything in their power to keep Michael confined and restricted to NJ. That’s not going to happen.
By the way, who has lived and had a residence and thriving business in Loxahatchee for YEARS? Where does Michael’s significant other live? Lauren Kanarek is new to Loxahatchee. It was pretty presumptuous for her to move there if she was and is so frigging afraid of Michael.
No doubt it will be MICHAEL demanding restraining orders against all Kanareks and RG particularly - the man who tried to kill him.
Edit to add, why did Lauren move to Loxahatchee KNOWING Mary Haskins Gray lives there and has for years? She doesn’t sound too afraid to me and others. Of course she jumped the gun before the trial and verdict. The civil trials won’t go any better for them.
Mary Haskins already has a no contact order in place against the Kanareks and has for some time! It has been honored and enforced.

Considering LK bought a house not far in Loxahatchee from the farm that Michael has already owned for years, thus putting herself in the potential situation of seeing him in the area, I would say the onus is on her.
She could have bought anywhere in the world, yet she bought within a very close distance to his long established farm.
This tells me two things-

It kind of doesn’t work like that. It would be a criminal court that will issue that kind of order normally, and no matter what court would do that, there would need to be a case.
Cases are started for things that have happened, not things that might happen. So depending on their laws, the best bet might be a criminal court but normally something needs to happen first. And the drama from NJ probably won’t count.
Caveat: I have zero idea how FL does stuff or their laws in this regard.

By me we do that for civil cases by starting a case in the new state to register the foreign order. Not often done.
I haven’t seen it in criminal court BUT I haven’t worked criminal court since the 80s so I’m sure much has changed.

I spent the summer in the Colorado Rockies without Internet. So, I just skimmed the posts on the Krol hearing.
I lost 20 pounds and wore sunscreen religiously so guess I’m in the unhealthy pale and skinny club VS the fat and tan one.
Not that it is any of your business.
But I see eggbutt has not changed, making personal insults her go-to response.
I received appropriate responses to my communications, especially from USEF.
Editing to add: I plan to communicate with Helgstrand about the Barisone threads, although you should more accurately call them Lauren Kanarek as she is more frequently discussed. As new owners, I urge them to re-evaluate whether this topic belongs on a horse- and riding-oriented board.
