That could be. It sounded like just one more petty, spiteful torture device, but there could have been another reason for it.
I just wonder if it would have been effective for that purpose, though. They were not allowed to sleep in the barn, but they still could have followed her around at night to keep an eye on her actions, right?
Wasn’t there some mention in the trial of LK feeding unauthorized “treats” to RC’s horse? Or something like that? If that was the case, I certainly would have been following her around to make sure she did not feed anything to my horse every time she set foot in the barn.
Once again, it is absolutely astonishing to think about the state of affairs on that property at that time.
