That was my point. The NGRI required a Self Defense component in the initial plea. However, the defense cannot present self defense without evidence to back up their tale. You can’t claim Martians landed as an alternative scenario.
I believe the Civil trial is much more lenient as to alternative theories. However, MB will also be fair game then.

I just wonder if it would have been effective for that purpose, though. They were not allowed to sleep in the barn, but they still could have followed her around at night to keep an eye on her actions, right?
Wasn’t there some mention in the trial of LK feeding unauthorized “treats” to RC’s horse? Or something like that? If that was the case, I certainly would have been following her around to make sure she did not feed anything to my horse every time she set foot in the barn.
Once again, it is absolutely astonishing to think about the state of affairs on that property at that time.
Yes Dr Cox said she told LK not to feed her horse sugar cubes. LK did so anyway.
Yes, and wasn’t that the horse MHG was showing at the time? That certainly would have set off huge alarm bells in my head in that situation. Particularly with a show coming up in the near future.

I believe it was the horse who’s barn name was DD. Dr. Cox slept outside of DD’s stall. The high value horse. I think Dr. Cox and MHG co-owned the horse. MGH is currently showing DD.

I can imagine a very good reason to use sugar cubes under certain circumstances. More so than any other treat. 
It happened at the point when the jury decided the prosecutor had proven his case beyond a reasonable doubt and the jury started considering the expert testimony on insanity.
