MB CIVIL SUIT UPDATE #10 K’s Request to Adjourn (delay) DENIED 11/01/22

Awww, that’s sweet.

Aaaaaand, true to form: just checked. Not only does ED have ‘Esq.’ in giant font on his website, he uses as his professional photo a casual picture of him out somewhere with the person next to him badly cropped out.

Holy smokes, that’s as sloppy as his appearance in court/his testimony. So, I guess he’s consistent.

I once worked for someone who had an honorary doctorate from a small local university. She insisted on being called “Doctor” by EVERYONE, in every circumstance. I didn’t stay long at that job lol

Unfortunately my scanner and computer are not on speaking terms. I have tried many interventions but they are both bent of being recalcitrant. Took me 2 hours just to get the printer to print a copy of my positive covid test so I could fax it to a clnic for those of us with long covid. I believe that AI is conspiring against me. Does thi make me delusional?

Years ago, my wonderful vet was having Saturday hours, and my friend took one of her animals in for an appointment. One of the vet tech’s husband came by, and suddenly the husband’s friend came running into the office screaming for help. I don’t know how it happened, but they were going hunting, and some how the husband ended up with a bullet in his leg. They called 911, and the vet ran out and put a tourniquet on his leg until the ambulance showed up.

Unfortunately, since the office manager said something about shooting, I was told several police cars showed up, and everyone had their guns out. Fortunately, it was a flesh wound. Yes, even though it was early in the morning, many adult beverages were involved. Living in Las Cruces was never dull.

I forget where I saw it, but sometime in the last few years there was some article that listed the most useful people in a zombie apocalypse, and I think vets were on top of the list, based on the idea that they had a lot of useful medical knowledge and the ability to improvise with the materials at hand on the run in the field as needed. Lol.

And really, when you think about it, doctors who work on humans only have to know about one species. Vets have a much wider range of knowledge since they learn about all sorts of species.

I got to ride Abdullah in a clinic once. Clearly I should head straight to the Olympics.

So we went from sugar cubes to accusing LK of a crime that has nothing to do with the trial. People can worry about sugar cubes if their horse has Cushings or ever had laminitis or PSSM 1 or 2, or tends to bite.

Completely unnecessary speculation.

I agree with the former (although I would say “that’s so 80s/90s). I also agree with what I think @MHM is implying (ETA and what @Angela_Freda spelled out) that makes them particularly worrisome.

My mare, however staunchly disagrees with your assertion about peppermints. And she is hexing you for putting such an idea into the world.

Carry on…

Actually, this is quite logical. By drugging a horse heading to a show and hoping that horse is randomly tested, MHG and MB would be the ones accused of doping the horse since they were responsible for the feeding of the horse. Could have been just another part of the master plan.

I lived in the Buffalo NY area and rode at Chestnut Ridge for a time. My father had gotten me a 1/2 lease on a really nice horse there… but he ended up colicked and passed I think 2 days (maybe 3) prior to an upcoming clinic I had signed up for. I was a mess… parents going through a bad divorce, my mom recovering from breast cancer. Horses were my safe and happy place. I was devastated, basically just a sobbing heap on the tackroom floor for a few hours.

I was told to come out anyway and they would find something for me to clinic on. Next thing you know, I’m having the day of my life. It was amazing for me. I’m sure he felt like he was giving a pony ride. I learned to recognize when to just get the heck outta the way and let the horse do their thing that day though.

I don’t consider Osborne a reliable source of information because of her personal ties with Barisone.
I think Bilinkas is a skilled and experienced lawyer and would not have allowed Barisone to appear like that if he did not think it would be an advantage. Bilinkas could have requested the judge order the jail to provide grooming care on the eve of the trial. Most jail routinely off hair cut services on the eve of trial, too.
As CH has noted, many defendants with even more extreme appearances such as gang members, turn up in court in a suit, fresh haircut, clean shaven and tattoos obscured.
I think Barisone’s appearance and demeanor were calculated.

Plus people who don’t really have any experience showing at the higher levels might either think that every horse gets tested, or think that they could tip off somebody to test a specific horse, possibly through an intermediary.

Similar to emailing a judge in the legal system, perhaps.
