I recently found a video of it by Bon Jovi. Swoon! That man could sing the alphabet and I’d listen, but IMHO it’s very good.

I ran into him at the mall when I was about 15. Lol. Needless to say we were screaming and crying.

He must have a pretty good Dorian Gray portrait tucked away somewhere as well.

Here is a carol we had the children’s choir sing as a processional on Christmas Eve. This is the only recording I could find of it. When we did it with the kids we had them skip down the center aisle, each with a balloon. It was much more raucus than this recording.

My favorite lines:
Sing all you wisemen, dance all you scientists
whether your theories be false or true;
God uses wisdom, God uses ingorance,
God on his birthday had a need of you.

You know he is a veterinarian right?

I however do find that song annoying.

I’m not so sure about this stance - I LOVE the Pentatonix covers. Their versions of White Winter Hymnal is one of my favorites.

My absolute favorites for Christmas:
All Amy Grant Christmas CD’s, they are all equally amazing!

Christmas Angels - Toronto children’s chorus, this was an unexpected surprise and I play it so often but it never gets old!

Vanessa Williams - Star Bright CD, always so beautiful for the Christmas spirit.

And, of course A Charlie Brown’s Christmas, which I play over and over and never tire.

I have a whole collection of Christmas CD’s but always come back to these favorites.

haha YES Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith Christmas were staples in my home growing up. I think her album with Tennessee Christmas was the only record I knew how to play before we got CDs and cassettes.

So I collect Hallmark Ornaments. This year just finished a 12 year run of 12 Days ornaments. The eighth year erupted in CHAOS when the ornament was revealed to be A MILKMAID. Some collectors were livid because they thought the series would depict ALL birds. Apparently some bird lover wrote a dissertation that the song was actually based upon birds and has example for birds for every verse. It was quite a debacle and I still am a bit aplumb as to how it turned into such a hatefest on the company and the artist.

Ok sidebar ended on that

It is not a Disney only product.

That is the one rule we always had for our traveling teams. It really does cover everything

I don’t listen to Christian music per se but I have always liked Christy Lanes Shake Me I Rattle

Theologically, the song is kind of unsound. Her response to Gabriel showed yup she totes knew. I counter with “The Canticle of the Turning” because I like to keep Christmas songs a little spicy and give Mary a bit more credit.

“From the halls of power to the fortress tower
Not a stone will be left on stone
Let the king beware for your
Justice tears ev’ry tyrant from his throne
The hungry poor shall weep no more
For the food they can never earn
There are tables spread,
Ev’ry mouth be fed
For the world is about to turn
My heart shall sing of the day you bring
Let the fires of your justice burn
Wipe away all tears
For the dawn draws near
And the world is about to turn!”

This list of Christmas songs unfortunately includes the way-too-much-overplayed Springsteen “Santa Clause is Coming to Town,” but it does have a lot of other really wonderful Christmas songs, including this timeless classic by Nat King Cole.

It was still fun to see Paul McCartney join Bruce onstage for a rendition of it on SNL years ago. Complete with a set of bells to shake.

One of my favorite covers, as long as I don’t hear it more than once or twice a week.

YES!!! Both hilarious! May I also offer a Canadian Christmas staple by the late and beloved Stuart McLean?
The classic Dave Cooks The Turkey…
