MB CIVIL SUIT UPDATE #10 K’s Request to Adjourn (delay) DENIED 11/01/22

It’s my understanding that JK paid the business directly, a set amount on a monthly basis, and MB provided care and services for that $$$, which was being stretched ever so thin by the increasing burdens of LK. The shoeing may have been an extra cost that he would have had to pay for out of his own pocket and hope to get reimbursement from JK or LK and with LK on the way out, he felt it wasn’t necessary to take the risk of not getting paid for it and he wanted to make it clear that they were to be leaving, so he decided not to have it done.

I am not sure where it was brought up before, but I think I remember it being said that hoof care was not included in the monthly board/training/rent payment.

There is certainly no reason why it should be included. I have never seen such an arrangement in the horse business.

No, except to annoy the plaintiff, who is probably fuming.

Typos in filings are so common that they hardly register to people who read a lot of them. Spellcheck only finds things you misspell, not where you use the wrong word. I have seen one where the signature line for the judge’s signature on a proposed order read “Horrible Judge” instead of “Honorable Judge.”

Lol.

I will say that I have become much more sympathetic to typos since I started to use voice to text. But I would hope they would be caught more often on legal documents.

Try bookmarking the main URL: njcourts.gov.

Then when you hit that URL, go to Public, then Court Livestreams.

It appears to list just those counties that have active livestreams happening at that moment. There is a Zoom hearing going on right now at Camden>Recovery Court (to give you an idea of what a Zoom hearing looks like).

Has anyone checked the site throughout the day to notice if the live streams start when each court is in session?

That’s hilarious. Makes me feel better. I inserted “god” for “good” once and in another, “food” instead of “good.” Colleague did not appreciate.my summary.

IIRC, it was postulated on one of the other threads that the farrier(s) billed MB and MB paid them then passed on the expense to the owners of the horses in question. It was also postulated that perhaps he had been carrying all the farrier costs for LK’s horses, and he was tired of getting soaked (and harassed and abused) and knew they were leaving, so he wasn’t going to pick up any more costs for farrier work for her horses.

[Edited to say, sorry, I am behind again. Several folks already answered this upstream. ]

I’ve seen it. Farrier bills the trainer and trainer passes the cost on to the clients. There was quite a ruckus at one barn I was at when several clients learned that the trainer was padding the bill (example: farrier fee was $150, trainer told the client it was $200).

Very common in the H/J industry and in the case that the trainer is riding the horse exclusively and the owner is absentee.

I have seen all kinds of things but from what I understand this is not how it was done at this facility. At least not for Lauren’s horses. She paid the farrier directly.

To clarify, I meant I’ve never seen an arrangement where the cost of the farrier work is absorbed by the trainer along with the costs for board.

I’ve certainly seen plenty of arrangements where the trainer pays the farrier, and then is reimbursed by the client for the farrier bill.

Which makes it more interesting.

But not exactly surprising.

Years ago I was typing some long document to file and at the bottom instead of typing “Herein” I typed “Heroin”. Nobody caught it before it was filed. LOL

That’s a good one. I have never given anyone a sex change, yet

Eggbutt, thank you for running this illustrious, Olympian-adjacent mob at my bidding while the Revenge was off marauding in the Atlantic. What a lot of catching up I had to do when I got back to Florin! Wasn’t that clever of FD to figure out that everyone here is doing someone else’s bidding before she got herself banned?

I suppose now that a trolling poster sniffed out the fact that there is a single mastermind at the helm of the global adverse reaction to LK, I must confess: It is I who has been orchestrating all of the comments in every part of the internet that are critical of LK & Co and supportive of justice for MB. You see, I was hoping to retire soon and want to hand off the DPR title to another just and hard working Farm Boy. MB is at the top of my list of candidates, so I have managed to convince the entire world to express sympathy for him and aversion to LK in the hopes that it will somehow get him released.

Looks like I got caught up just in time for the next round of courtroom (er, Zoom) drama. May justice prevail!

Resistance is futile.

@ekat Will there be a written record of what is said during the hearing tomorrow or is it Zoom or nothing, as far as the public is concerned? Do you expect more filings tomorrow that will make it into the public record? Will the Judge make his rulings tomorrow or will he take more time to consider the arguments of each side?
