MB CIVIL SUIT UPDATE #10 K’s Request to Adjourn (delay) DENIED 11/01/22

This is fun…a Mob member just sent this to me! What a shame LK doesn’t comprehend I was referring to the jury that her super attorney called insane!

I am thrilled to learn I am still a thorn in their side! This also completely shows how closely they use our threads for their news!

[Edit]

BTW Lauren, I prefer eggbuttisms in the future.

Well, she clearly has some info her lawyers don’t, because they don’t appear to have figured much of it out.

I agree, and I truly understand going outside the US if looking for something particular - I have a friend who regularly travels to Spain searching for specific Iberian horses for her clients, and I have friends who travel to Europe searching for very well bred mares under saddle to add to their breeding program. My comment was in regards to lower level ammy riders who simply want to say they imported their horse from

I’m hoping some here can report back as I have too many of my own deadlines to be able to watch!

Totally approximate though. There’s probably several cases scheduled at that time.

information I’m posting here is not specific to Lauren or the horses she bought

There are many reasons an adult amateur imports a horse (with or without trying it). However, the most common are getting more for their money and resale value. Imported horses generally resell for more and if an amateur can get a decent quality and sound mid-level horse in Europe for the same price as a 4 year old of similar quality stateside…why wouldn’t they? Granted, this is getting harder and harder to do as people are going 3 and 4 “brokers” deep and the commissions add up (it also means information accuracy is suspect by the time it reaches the buyer) and the exchange rates haven’t been as beneficial.
A good portion of people skip going to try the horse, bht will take the free international flights to travel with their horse. It’s an awesome experience for them!

Reminds me of the meme, something like:

You don’t need a $50k horse, you need a $10k horse and $40k in lessons.

Nobody is getting very much for $10k right now.

Maybe by next year when we are in the depths of a recession, but that’s a price even OTTBs are fetching right now.

Of buyers importing horses, how would you say it breaks down, by rider level?

Yeah, the market is absolutely nuts right now…no matter where you look!

Yes, well it’s an old meme, and I haven’t looked at horses for sale in ages and I’ve always been cheap.

But if I hit Powerball/Mega millions…

The majority, in my experience, are adult amateurs from 1st to 3rd level.

There are plenty of horses for the typical amateur here in the States. Just because someone wants to brag they imported or own a horse from Europe doesn’t mean they should buy a horse from Europe. It’s kind of like owning a mare, just because she has a uterus doesn’t meant you should put something in it. ie breed it.

The market is going to go meh soon. Had a contractor in yesterday to do a small job and he was complaining that they went from turning down jobs in a glut to getting no jobs. Few houses selling now too.

If the person who sent you that doesn’t want to be known, edit out the insta users comment profile picture…because I can figure out who screen shotted that in a couple of minutes on instagram.
