I don’t eat coconut so I get you. But I don’t know how but coquito is absolutely delicious.
There is no egg nog. I abhor rum.
I’m suspicious of rum since I overindulged in 1990 and threw up in my shirt pocket in an effort to not throw up in my friend’s car. Technically I did, but still…
Maybe this recipe will cure my aversion.
Can someone remind me of the timeline for this civil suit? When is discovery slated to end? When do depositions begin? If the trial moves forward, when is it due to start?
I often make myself virgin coquito. Then people can add the rum amount they want.
I believe, technically, Lauren’s deposition was supposed to happen over a month ago.
Egg Nog is something that you should NEVER buy in a bottle.
Paper discovery was supposed to be complete August 1st. However, Jonathan and Kirby Kanarek chose not to comply with subpoenas.
Depositions were supposed to be completed by November 30th. Lauren Kanarek’s (the plaintiff) was scheduled for October 10th. However, she did not comply.
At the rate the plaintiff and her witnesses are complying with discovery in the case LK brought, it’s going to be a long, long time before a trial date is set, if ever.
So at what point will the judge probably be inclined to just say, forget it, they’re not serious about this, and find in MB’s favor?
That sounds fantastic. I love coconut anything. I might try my hand at it for thanksgiving.
Hard to say. He can’t just do that without a motion in front of him. SGF has already stated in previous court filings they are going to ask for summary judgment. Whether or not MB follows suit (and RC too) only MB and his attorneys know.
If the plaintiff continues to not comply with discovery, I can see all three defendants asking for summary judgment and/or dismissal. How the judge rules would be very interesting.
Thanks for the legal info, as always.
Cool! It gets a little pricey but is well worth it. Please let me know if you love it!
I’m going to try it, too, because I love all those flavours.
I also love real, homemade eggnog. That recipe gets one thing very wrong: a lack of eggs does not extend the shelf life. Real, authentic eggnog has so much sugar and booze that it keeps practically forever. When made correctly, a year is not uncommon. I make mine in October for Christmastime.
Most people have only had bottled or carton eggnog and are amazed when they taste the real thing.
The only thing I might change with the coquito is to use some dark rum. With all that rum, all white sounds a bit boring and one note. Some other rums might liven things up!
Some people do add eggs to coquito. The recipe I used didn’t.
Thanks! And… Yikes, that’s what I thought. It’s so baffling to me that the plaintiff is holding everything up… and it also means there is no end in sight to this saga (and these threads. Lol).
I would assume it is baffling to most people that the plaintiff is holding up their own civil case.
Or, if rum is not their alchohol of choice, they could be creative and try vodka or tequila. (Would tequila make it a Mexican coquito?)
Illegal maneuver!!
It’s been years since I made homemade eggnog. Mine was non-alchoholic but it was light and delicious. I made it a lot when I was nursing and having trouble maintaining my weight. (I don’t have that problem anymore… )
