MB Civil Trial: JK/KK Contempt of Court?

Nagel’s list of accomplishments on his website seem, umm… interesting.

It is mentioned is that he is supposedly listed on “National Law Journal’s list of America’s Top 50 Elite Trial Lawyers.” However, when I went to search the National Law Journal website, I couldn’t find a list available, let alone for any particular year. Also, this appears to be a free online law “magazine” of sorts and it seems entirely possible to be able to pay a fee to the website to be added to this list. Not sure.

It also mentions that he was named in the “Best Lawyers in America,” which is a website online, but it appears anyone can be nominated (you just can’t nominate yourself) and then previously nominated candidates review submissions and pick who they like. The only qualification required is that you must be in good standing with your local bar association. I also wonder if you pay said people to review your resume or whatnot to be considered. Is this a way for a website to make money or a legitimate award? I can’t tell.

Interesting, though. For sure.

Maybe she didn’t and that’s why it failed?

Did you find any Yelp reviews?

I did not and I’m kind of disappointed about it. There is not much outside of what appears to be paid for advertisements. :face_with_monocle:

I expected at least a good yelp review for a top 5 (or was it 10?) purple shoe, black chip global law firm.

Bilinkas has 10 5* reviews posted. Most reference the Barisone trial.

Wait, is Nagel the lawyer LK was referencing back in the SS thread? Does anyone remember if his name was mentioned earlier? If so, I was expecting much better filings from him.

Or that he could offer her some of the other things she said about that….

There are some great pictures of Bilinkas as well. Seems to be passionate about what he does.

Ha, I just saw that you posted just before I did. Great minds, and all that…

I suspect that SGF is already working on this one by saying LK wasn’t legally on the property when this happened, as she was trespassing.

It looks like things did not go her way because the lawyer she has graduated in the late 70s, is certified in NJ and there is nothing indicating that his law firm is in the top 10 of US law firms, let alone the world.

ETA: interesting that she says she plans to ask these firms for representation and then in the next few sentences, says they will email her her every answer as if already hired. Nope.

So if LK ends up withdrawing her suit against SGF, or if it is dismissed by the judge, then what are the odds that she will also drop her suit against MB?

I mean, as a couple of broken-record posters repeatedly tell us, she is apparently really after SGF’s insurance carrier (because that is where the big bucks are). If that doesn’t play out the way she wants, is she likely to slink back into her black lagoon? Or will she blow even more of her trust fund paying attorneys to keep pursuing MB legally?

Thank you for providing that information. I just learned something!

It is part of the case management process, so it is required. Generally only attorneys participate having spoken to their clients prior to the conference, and they relay information back to their clients during the conference.

That’s part of their cross claim against Barisone. They said that whatever unwritten agreement Barisone had with LK (allowing her to live in the farmhouse) it was Barisone’s agreement, not theirs.

SGF is in opposition with LK.
MB is in opposition with LK
because she is suing them both.

That doesn’t necessarily mean that SGF and MB are allies (MB being part of SGF notwithstanding).

If SGF has the sharpest lawyers of the crew we’ve seen so far, that’s a double edged sword for MB. Yeah, SGF will defend itself rigorously and Deininger can come along to the in person deposition that SGF compels (if they do), but SGF is also opposing MB as to who bears the liability for her injuries.

SGF said they would move for summary judgement after discovery is complete. LK will be deposed next month. Who knows when MB will be deposed?

I have a LTC for MA. If I bring a gun across state lines I have to have it secured in the trunk not in my purse. Gun laws are tricky state to state. I really try hard to not test fate. My BF can carry in any state because he is a retired Fed…however he can’t carry in to certain venues so has a gun safe in his car.
So I think the person, the possession and the state will have to sort this one out.

Since she said the lawyer was on speed dial and would answer right away…I translated that to mean “family”. The law firm she is talking about is most likely the employer of one of her “numerous” lawyer family members.

Nagel might be waiting till after the Krol hearing to file a subpoena. Or maybe it’s already been done? We wouldn’t know if MB is complying.

Thank you for providing that information. I just learned something!

Thank you for explaining!
