Nagel’s list of accomplishments on his website seem, umm… interesting.
It is mentioned is that he is supposedly listed on “National Law Journal’s list of America’s Top 50 Elite Trial Lawyers.” However, when I went to search the National Law Journal website, I couldn’t find a list available, let alone for any particular year. Also, this appears to be a free online law “magazine” of sorts and it seems entirely possible to be able to pay a fee to the website to be added to this list. Not sure.
It also mentions that he was named in the “Best Lawyers in America,” which is a website online, but it appears anyone can be nominated (you just can’t nominate yourself) and then previously nominated candidates review submissions and pick who they like. The only qualification required is that you must be in good standing with your local bar association. I also wonder if you pay said people to review your resume or whatnot to be considered. Is this a way for a website to make money or a legitimate award? I can’t tell.
Interesting, though. For sure.
