MB Civil Trial: JK/KK Contempt of Court?

His yelling at LK to put up the dog on the 911 call was most curious…

So no Judge to sustain objections from LK’s attorney. I would think that could be very worrisome for her and her pack.

And I would not be one bit surprised if that is indeed their planned tactic - file to limit or terminate her deposition, which would result in more delays.

It’s interesting the thought of Michael Barisone and his team trying to delay anything, while it is the Kanareks delaying!!! What a royal hoot!!

There’s that old lack of reading for comprehension thing happening again.

Oh, I can easily see this type of scenario:

Judge Taylor looks at his calendar and says, Ok, let’s go for Aug. 29. Then his wife reminds him a few days or weeks beforehand that they have to take daughter to college that week. Or that day is her mother’s birthday and he promised to take the day off so they could go visit. Or she has a colonoscopy scheduled for that day and needs him to drive her back and forth. Or…

That’s exactly how it happens. Or a judge has been transferred or retired or died so vacations switch around. In my court judges vacation, sick days and annual leave days were updated weekly and we’d get updates weekly and then often that was amended.

I suspect SGF’s lawyers plan to have the court reporter video the deposition.

Is it possible that SGF could pull a twist and make arrangements to do the deposition in person in FL? I mean if they just want to really strip away all the excuses.

It would be pretty funny to hear LK’s excuses then - but I doubt anyone wants to pay to fly all those attorneys to FL.

Is a lawyer allowed to do a deposition in a state they do not practice in?

They can choose to go there, but probably do not want to incur the expense for their client when the person they’re deposing is the plaintiff in the case.

So, it’s possible if they decide they just really want to stick it to her and get that deposition. I understand the expense is a bit stiff, but that would be awesome to see.

I went back and read every single update Lara Osborne has posted and not once has she given any explanation for anything! Why do you assume or demand she begin giving public explanations now? As far as I know none of it is our business unless something is posted in a legal filing or press or whatever. If you haven’t learned by now that those close to Michael Barisone keep their mouths shut, I guess you never will and continue to make insinuations.

It would be really awesome if LKs reason for wanting to be deposed by zoom is simply that she doesn’t want the hassle and expense of transporting herself to NJ, and the attorneys for the defense incur the expense to travel to Florida thinking they’re calling her bluff. That would be a hoot!

Could they offer to fly down at her expense? Well, not Lauren’s expense, but Jonathon’s expense I guess.

It sure would, because the point is to make deposing her difficult. Not only did she attend the trial, she went on to a big family get together right after wards….at a sister’s in NYC. Hope council doesn’t have a screenshot of that……or other going abouts, like 48 hours interviews…. but I wonder if there could be some sort of hybrid….the lawyers stay in NJ and LK is compelled to appear at a cooperative firm in FL that will handle the court reporting/video angle/zoom link.

The second she argued that she didn’t want to travel for convenience, she’d lose. I already think that “covid” is a dying argument these days.

A collection of quotes re: hearing dates if you will. I could be wrong, but I read someone trying to be upbeat while growing frustrated with the delays. Not someone that knows the delays are because they are playing at a game that does Michael no favors.

I’m not demanding Lara Osborne give public explanations for anything. I assume she knows the reason for the delay. Since she has not divulged it (definitely her right), that leaves open the possibilities that the delay may have come from the court side or from Barisone’s side.

There is lots posted on these threads that involves speculation far beyond stuff posted in legal findings or reported in the media.

@Sdel, this is a smart idea. Lawyers there can help with the paperwork shuffle while the lawyers from NJ are in charge of questions.

And she can pay to use the FL firm since she is refusing to come to the court for the suit she filed.
