I don’t think I knew that she was a smoker, but that would certainly be a good reason to disable smoke detectors.

IIRC, there was some suggestion on another thread that he was involved with the film industry at one time. And when the film genre was mentioned, the Mods stepped in and either shut the thread down or edited/removed those posts. It apparently struck a nerve with someone

But that would likely be well more than one person smoking. Unless LK was hanging out with a large group of chain smokers, I can’t see it being an issue. Either that or I need better smoke detectors. But they always work beautifully if I’m roasting something, or someone burns their toast.

I have a family member who quit hard drugs, but can not kick cigarettes/vaping/nicotine.
Imagine the savings ($$) if they could?

A friend of mine has quit SMOKING (hurray!) and is still weaning using nicotine patches. I suggested keeping track of the amount spent (cigarettes vs patch) and think of the savings when no longer necessary.

I suppose it could be a group, but that is not the report(s) I hear.
There is also a problem at the local senior housing apartments with people smoking in their rooms and setting off the smoke detectors.

I am not trying to “derail your conversation”. It was Eggbutt who posted the Grande video yesterday and tagged me multiple times insisting I watch it.

Well damn! We need to get word to Michael that in the future he must say, per some absurd poster on CoTH, that he must never wish “everyone health” again. If you’re being sued for millions for the personal injury you caused someone by shooting them, even while insane, it’s in your self interest that the plaintiff has less permanent injury as opposed to more personal injury. That’s all I’m saying.

You’re so slanted at this point that you can’t even see it. I don’t know why you’re so staunchly against MB, and very pro LK, but that’s your choice. Although, I’m not exactly all for MB, nor am I totally against him either. You fed me some line previously about “facts” but that’s not what you’re here for, is it? Since you’ve become quite snarky, I don’t feel bad taking any sort of tone with you, at this point.

I think no matter what MB says you’ll have some beef with it. Why on earth should be directly comment on LK? He shouldn’t. It’s really not in his best interests and if he did, I’m sure you’d have some pretzel to twist that into. “He couldn’t being himself to say…” Oh please.

It’s entirely possible that MB doesn’t know exactly what’s going on re SM. He’d only have that info through other people, and we don’t know how much or how little they’ve clued him in. He’s also not the leader of some cult. He cannot control a bunch of strangers on the internet. No matter what this guy says it will be wrong or not good enough for you. Yet somehow you hang on LK’s every word as if it would be the truth and she’s merely a “flawed person” as we all are. Right.

It’s also very “LK like” (no I’m not saying that you are her) to belittle someone’s hard earned credentials and career. Do you hold a PhD? From first hand experience I can tell you that it takes hard work and dedication to obtain a PhD in any subject/field. It’s a respectable achievement, IMO. Even if I don’t agree with everything that he said in his YT video, I’m not about to attack and belittle the guy. I can see arguing his points, but belittling his credentials, come on. I think it’s possible that you sway to toward the LK side because you’re of similar character. Maybe you feel that you can relate. Which I think is a perfectly natural way to “find a side” or position in an argument.

Eggbutt posted the Grande video and tagged me several times to watch it. I watched it.

My original point on his credentials was that if he were a psychiatrist and a member of the American Psychiatric Association, it is a violation of the organizations code of ethics and rules to publicly diagnose someone you haven’t examined in person.

A credentialed psychiatrist would be forbidden to make such a video. By default, then, any such video can only be made by someone not a credentialed psychiatrist.

BTW, there are also YouTube videos by credentialed psychiatrists explaining why they object to what Dr Grande is doing.

I do not hold a PhD. In terms of getting a BA or BS degree, in my view that may or may not represent a big achievement depending on the institution granting the degree. I think the PhD is the same.
