MB Civil Trial: JK/KK Contempt of Court?

Didn’t she call it Blue Chip? Perhaps that explains this pleading. She’s getting Blue Chip service.

That would be awesome if they could work that in.

Probably. I can’t keep up with all the adjectives and 48 Hours/Dateline, etc.

The reason Blue Chip sticks in my head is because, like many of her postings, it’s nonsense meant to sound like she knows what she’s talking about. (And in my mind I see Blue Corn Tortilla Chips, which are at least real.

White Shoe is an actual term.

Found where Nagel requested an adjournment on the two motions on JK and KK. Looks like the back and forth is moving appropriately in the filings, just not on this thread, a bit one sided here.

I am not caught up on the thread yet, so maybe this has already been covered. But how expensive are perjury fines? And do people ever go to jail/prison for perjury for a case like this?

I have no idea what you mean? I posted, as did others, the requests for adjournment the day they were filed.

Those are just asking the court for more time to show why Mom and Dad shouldn’t be held in contempt. They are absolutely not Motions to Quash the subpoenas, which should have been filed before they reached the point of contempt.

How is that one sided? We discussed those filings plenty.

Yes, you can go to jail and pay hefty fines, but it varies from state-to-state and then there are Federal court penalties as well, when applicable. In NJ, someone who commits perjury can get up to five years in prison and up to $15K in fines. As far as LK is concerned, the state would likely suspend the prison sentence and expect full payment of a fine, which is not a concern for her, as her father will easily cover the bill with “the money he gets from the bank”.

It’s common curtesy to give a grace period. I’m not surprised that, if they were really asked, that the SGF and MB attorney’s agreed to an extension. However, proper court etiquette would have been to formally ask for the extensions to respond to the subpoenas before contempt filings were made.

I agree! Lauren’s lawyer has a similar grasp on real facts as Lauren does.

Strange that his man who was wailing on youtube about this verdict now is getting what the verdict actually was wrong.

Strange, travel did not cause any increased risk for any of the others things she has done. Party at some hotel in NYC, etc.

Yes, because we all know about her fine command of all things legal and her ability to play 3D chess! :sunglasses:

It occurs to me if Lauren prevails and isn’t compelled to go to NJ for a suit she brought, Michael can use the same malarkey once he’s released if he is subpoena to return to NJ for any reason.

I wonder if LK doesn’t want to put herself in a position to be ridiculed as she was in April. Of course the depositions would not be public but press and groupies could be outside the Courthouse

On an actual TV broadcast!

I’m dying! Thanks!

It’s usually easier for the defendant. They didn’t pick the venue or ask to have this inflicted on them.

The best part of Nagles emotional rant

“This is a straightforward case”:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Dude. That’s a flat out lie

Doesn’t Lauren smoke?

Nope, not straightforward at all……LK said it was “very complex” what was going on at that farm….

Yeah, Finish the Bastard is definitely not straightforward.

Something else to consider, which I learned from watching the JD/AH trial, is that when it comes to discovery and depositions, you can go much deeper when its against a party opponent (if I’m using the right term) than if its a deposition of a witness.

So while MB’s lawyers may have deposed LK for the criminal trial, because she was just a witness in that case, what they could ask and look into was probably far less than what they can ask now.

Just as a matter of record, there has never been any indication that Lauren Kanarek has EVER had an interest in the game of Chess. “I’m playing Chess, while you’re playing Checkers!” is an old cliche jab that has been used time and again and it was updated recently to 3D Chess, as of a few years ago. 3D Chess is a reference to Star Trek, where the game of 3D Chess was actually a thing developed and depicted in the classic TOS, albeit abandoned by the time TNG came out, by which time they were using alien games instead. Back in the day, if you had the $$$$$, you could order a high-quality 3D Chess set from The Franklin Mint - who had a license to sell all sorts of stuff, like art-covered plates and dioramas - based on the design developed for Star Trek. The one they have now is of lower-quality, but readily available online.
