Yes, it is a matter of public record that they have had Country Club membership at Brooklake Country Club and did utilize it during the heyday of JK’s career, as part of their social climbing efforts, which also included participation in various community groups. Whether they have it at this time is unknown.

Yes, I recalled this vaguely from earlier threads.
I said “country club etc.” really as short hand for whatever community of peers the parents and extended family were or are engaged with. There have been comments on here over the years suggesting that the K family had local prestige, pull, influence to some degree at some point, but just speculation.
The thing is, that social capital is not bottomless for the average upper middle class family. You can bracket yourself off from your black sheep adult junkie child and try to keep them in another state. You can be the good parents of a bad child. You can even throw your weight around behind the scenes and people will excuse you as the good parent.
But when in relation to a law suit your bad child is implicating you personally in weirdly unethical or illegal actions like transcribing illegal tapes to send false complaints to a sports governing body, or conspiracy to illegal recordings or with holding evidence, it’s suddenly much murkier.
It’s one thing to try to be a fixer for a bad child on various traffic or altercation charges, and another to actually be participating in the bad child’s demented plan of harassment.
My guess is that the parents did not participate to the extent LK claims they did. But if that is true, then the parents need separate legal representation and are in an adversarial role to daughter.
The very super rich and the British aristocracy have much deeper resources of social capital and may be able to fly past a lot unscathed. But the mere American upper middle class does not have unlimited funds of social or financial capital and they regularly end up either bankrupt or in prison when they go too far off the rails.
So, I’m wondering what you do as parents? You’ve taken on funding this law suit. Now your daughter is either lying about you, or throwing you under the bus for your involvement in this scheme, or maybe you yourself were foolish enough to do this to yourself on her urging. This is much more than just making a traffic ticket disappear.
At the very least you’d try to delay depositions until you had a mitigation strategy in place.

I guess that’s the danger of living beyond your (g) means: If you try to be more than you are as a person; if you over extend yourself financially; if you over extend your personal knowledge pretending to know more than you do, so on and so forth, you eventually have to come to terms with the deficits.

Why did it fall upon Kirby to transcribe them? Doesn’t LK own a laptop and printer? Did Kirby simply volunteer her services? Is Kirby a licensed transcriber, if there is such a thing? Or is there some kind of official requirement that an adult’s mom has to do the typing?

This is why I am so curious to see where this leads, because it is such an unlikely thing for a mother to do in this circumstance. I also believe that at some point we were informed that KK.
had been travelling in Europe just prior to the shooting and hence out of the loop. But I can’t remember if this was from LK Seeker1 IM or another sock puppet. Certainly JK was on scene in the previous week.
If KK claims she never did the transcriptions then we know Seeker1 is a false account impersonating another person.

It was from Seeker. But the timeline is indeed confusing because if I recall correctly, she claims she
- transcribed the recordings before August 7,
- was in Europe when everything went down, and then
- was there at the hospital with RG shortly thereafter.

KK came back from Europe a few days before the shooting. Seeker1 said that herself in one of the threads I was reading yesterday.

What I recall Seeker saying is that she had been in Europe and got back “a few days” before the shooting, and had already done the transcriptions before talking to RG in the hospital.
I think she said “we” got back a few days before the shooting, and if “we” included JK, he would not have been around for a week of negotiating with Tarshis.

There must be something very incriminating or detrimental to the civil trial contained in this exchange. There is no other reason for someone claiming ties with the Ks to come on here and deny the events happened, claim a witness lied under oath in their testimony about such events, and then to specifically deny the existence of the existence of types of document production records that JK was asked to provide.
That was silly because the prosecution would have nailed Tarshis about his testimony if he was making it up, so there must have been some evidence given to the prosecution that it was true.
Maybe it was on a recording that was made in the office and LK didn’t give mommy that one to transcribe?
