Best to give it up and deny them oxygen.

Maybe Tarshis will sponsor her.

That’s one of the odd things about that order from Judge Sceusi. LK and her attorneys never requested a protective order on that issue.

They requested it re: LK’s deposition. So, it seems the Judge got his wires crossed a little when he wrote that language.

(In this instance, a protective order refers to limiting evidence - not what we think about as a stay away from someone order).

Here’s the request, for clarity:

And Nagel et al’s request to quash the two subpoenas which doesn’t include that language.

A lot of people will still be there in April esp if they are planning to go to Europe from there. By May most will be back to their home bases because shows will be starting in those regions.

It’s quite nice in April as the weather is still prime but overall everything is much less crowded as the snowbird crowd in WPB, Delray, and Boca have emptied out.

Well she certainly is a bill board advertising the importance of getting adequate legal counsel.

Are there still these grand galas going on in April or big shows to watch?

Not really. I think there are one or two money classes over at the former PBIEC in the first two weeks of April, and I want to say a CDI in Ocala. But in terms of the dressage set there will not be much in the way of galas or otherwise.

It’s interesting that they’ve selected dressage as their stomping grounds. While there is of course a lot of wealth in dressage, it’s not the kind of wealth that is just down the street in the showjumping and polo set.

It’s been my experience that most of the wealth on the dressage side of the street in Wellington is decidedly lower key.

I don’t think there is a respected owner, sponsor or rider that would go near her or her family in Wellington

Yes, but how many of them might not be following or be aware of what we know and have seen? Maybe the Kanareks really are delusional enough to put all feet forward, with their arms wide open, and say “Who wants to work with our wonderful daughter? We have money, so let’s talk business!”.

Perhaps. However I speak to folks there and when her name is brought up they immediately recoil - correct, they don’t know the whole story and they say MB shot her etc…. But they want nothing to do with her and do not think well of her - having never heard of her before the incident…. The dressage world is small….

And if he comes across anything like he does in the 48 Hours segment…no thanks and don’t bogart the hand sanitizer.

They’re following it enough to be aware of the cautionary tale “you are the company you keep”

And people have been much more wary of their circles in the more recent years.

Oh I totally agree. There’s money in dressage but there’s MONEY money in jumping. And polo is for the old mega money or Top 10 Billionaire new money.

I’ve stalked Wellington in February before but I didn’t go to gala type events for shows. It would be interesting to go to THE gala of the season and sit back in a corner watching all the Names in their natural habitat.

Sorry. Weak moment in the face of irrelevant YD inclusion.

That’s awesome. I worked with a guy who would interrupt a topic by waving both hands in the air and saying, “Tangent! tangent”. He is no longer at the college but we still repeat the behavior. It is such a useful phrase. I may implement it here. :smiling_imp:

Similarly, I would love to be at a major fete but not have to actually be social. We could get a back table, eat, drink and watch the activity. Since I’m a nobody/never-was, the risk of people approaching me is nil.

Not to validate in any way IM’s use of a disgusting similar term, but an old (70+ y/o) ASB trainer from my teen years used to use the term “jodphur sniffers” to describe wannabe’s and hangers-on who regularly showed up at shows and ASB social events to rub elbows with the glitterati. There were some in our neck of the woods that made a point of glad-handing their way into groups of big-gun riders, drivers, and owners by talking big about buying top horses. They would then turn up some months later at another event singing the same song, second verse - but had not only not bought a darned thing in the interim, but in fact had not made any attempt to go see any of the sale horses owned or trained by folks in the groups they had been schmoozing at earlier events. Mr. Carlson and his cohorts got to where they would just turn around and walk the other way when they saw those folks coming.
