Michael/ Lauren civil trial update February 9

Ok CH. I’m curious… in your opinion, what sort of policies should MB, MBD, and SGF have had?

You know… I think the recent turn of conversation on this thread this AM is actually a positive one, and might result in a public service of some kind or another.

In all reality, it probably is a good thing for every single farm and dressage professional in the greater Loxahatchee/Wellington area to know EXACTLY how much insurance and what sort of policies they should have before doing ANY business with LK. After all, you never know when LK might, slip, fall, or engage in other high risk behavior that results in substantial harm to herself… that she then demands financial compensation for.

It’s good for everyone to be well educated and prepared when interacting with this sort of client for any reason. You never know what might happen.

Don’t you think the insurance on the farmhouse that paid for the water damage was held by the owner, SGF?

I think allowing a non owner to take out hazard insurance, like fire insurance, on property they did not own would be super problematic.

One can get renters insurance. I have renters insurance, but only because my landlord requires it.

MB’s character witnesses didn’t appear to know how fragile his mental state was for, apparently, his entire life. If I remember correctly, Tarshis testified that he hadn’t prepared legal documents for MB for some years. MB had no written contracts with LK or RG or anyone else for the bartering deal or for her tenancy. Other posters here have commented on how crazy it was that LK was only paying $5000 a month. MB made that decision and that deal. He allowed LK and RG to live there. He exposed the entire barn to crazy drama with that whole situation. Not saying that LK has no responsibility for her actions. But at the end of the day MB had the control and the responsibility for what was happening there. He made the decision (for which he was found insane) to take a gun to a word fight.

Yes, I do think that LO may be an unwitting victim of all these circumstances. Why would a woman who has her own business she’s trying to build, had a teenage daughter at the time, jump all in to save the day for MB? A man with obvious mental problems, who was on trial for attempted murder, who is now confined to a mental institution, who has ongoing serious legal issues, may be completely broke when all is said and done. Doesn’t sound like much of a good place to begin a relationship or the hope for an enduring relationship. I only hope she has a written contract with MB for all her work in taking care of his affairs. He may have told her she could live for free at his Florida farm in exchange for managing his business. We’ve seen for the past few years the consequences of his bartering. I’d tell her to run for the hills and cut her losses before she loses everything, including her own mental health from all the stress of the situation. You didn’t see any of his friends in the horse industry jump all in to manage his affairs and his farm.

It’s not unusual for confined men to manipulate women on the outside. It’s not unusual for vulnerable women to seek love in a fantasy situation with an inmate to feel she is needed. I think it’s very sad for any woman caught up in something like this.

Cue another long rambling discourse on MHG’s involvement in everything. We seemed to have moved past that particular brilliant Poirot-style analysis and finger-pointing and angst… but LO and behold, the plot thickens.

And yes, I had to look up hybristophilia.

I’ve already said that I’d be shocked if SGF did not have liability coverage on a multimillion dollar property operating as a commercial boarding and training facility.

MB should have had health insurance and liability insurance.

Since the hospital was suing him for unpaid bills, doesn’t that suggest he did not have medical insurance?

I did too. And laughed so loud I scared the cat.

Ummm… what? Just because YOU did not see any of that, does not mean it did not happen or is not happening.

Yes, VHM. That’s exactly why people carry liability insurance. It covers liability should any person sustain an injury on your property, whether their initials are LK or MHG or VHM.

Are you revisiting the ridiculous “narrative” that LK orchestrated her own shooting in order to almost but not quite die so that she could sue and “take his farm”?

First, anyone running a horse business like that would definitely have liability insurance.

As far as the last question, apparently you have ZERO idea of how long it can take for any kind of health insurance to decide to cover specific items or procedures. Or, deciding long after the fact that they do not need to cover that and suddenly bill you for many thousands. Ask me how I know.

My pet health insurance works far better - and faster - than my personal health insurance.

Every time I think the K-Klan and their minions can’t sink any lower, one of them proves me wrong. Seems everyone affiliated with that bunch is a nasty piece of work.

Hmmm. Pure speculation on my part, but I think that team Kanarek has a made a decision behind the scenes that pursuing a “divide and conquer” strategy right now is in their best interests.

They would prefer it if LO abandoned MB, as it would make it much harder for him to dig in and continue to fight.

They would prefer if everyone stopped donating to the GFM, and funds ran dry with respect to paying criminal attorneys fees, that may or may not expedite the legal process involved in getting MB discharged from Greystone

And it seems they would prefer if Silver and Deininger weren’t closely coordinating when it comes to legal filings requesting accountability in the discovery process on the part of JK and KK. Sooooo, it seems like certain parties are continuing to publicly insist that SGF and MBs interests are at odds in key ways… perhaps in hopes that someone reading these forums will bite on that argument, and legal filings (and related pressure on the entire K camp) will be less closely coordinated in the future.

Again… the desperation is palpable. **

Why in the world would JK resist responding to subpoenas? He has nothing to hide… right? Why in the world would LK resist sitting for her deposition? She has nothing to hide… right?

Carry on though. Chatter about insurance and try and sow the seeds of discord in Barisone camp if you like. As a random bystander, I do find the tactics interesting to watch.

Someone is trying really really hard to block any pertinent discussion lately.

LO wrote in gofundme: “People that know me know that I am mostly a private person, but I feel like it is time for me to speak. The past 2 and a half years have been the hardest of my life, and I have not had the easiest life prior to that! [vulnerable]
I stepped up to help a friend in need when others ran away.[no one else is stepping up] Over time, that friendship grew into much more. I am proud to say that Michael Barisone is my best friend and my life partner.” [fantasy relationship]

So LO is now a victim. OK.

And long distance/online type relationships are fantasies.

I’m not affiliated nor a minion. I simply don’t buy into the popular narrative here that MB is faultless. He has a responsibility for things that occurred as well as others there, including LK.

Sort of. But at the same time, there is clearly an effort to shade and shame LO with respect to her relationship with MB.

Someone who really and truly cared about women who get taken advantage of by master manipulators wouldn’t resort to those sorts of shaming tactics. It’s low and ugly, and has the faint smell of misogyny underlying it all.

It’s sad. I thought Sierra Mist was better than that, and actually did care about women who are victims of all sorts of abuse and manipulation. But apparently, she is a more cynical player, and not above using the old “nuts and $luts” type of slander tactics if it means it helps the Kanareks’ position in this matter.

And make no mistake, the Kanareks’ position would improve dramatically if MB no longer had LO’s support.

So… they are smearing LO.

This is one of the more ludicrous posts ever made on these threads. These new assumptions are fascinating after all these years. There is obviously a tactic to elicit some reaction from insiders, or even LO or MB themselves. Personally, I believe they won’t stoop to any recognition.

Of course, those who are close to and friends of grifters, can only imagine relationships based on taking advantage of others. Quite sad really. Water usually seeks its own level.

Actually, I have in the past questioned the sanity of RG for playing the Kanarek game…for what? Drugs? A small allowance? What? Surely it can’t be sexual. We all realize LK is unable to function independently, whether mentally, physically, or financially so she actually requires a keeper. What a pathetic arrangement. Imagine being satisfied with this life. I speculate the money, and control, is running out.

Because not everyone (thankfully) is a cold hearted as you @SierraMist.

Because not all of us expect people to not have blemishes, especially in their 50s.

Because there are still people in this world who are loyal to friends experiencing hardship.

Because there are people, even women, who understand that people can become targets, and then victims of unscrupulous people who seek to harm them.

Because LO and Michael already were friends long before this ever happened.

Because other people, including (GASP) women, have also stood by Michael throughout this process.

LO is not some woman who was waiting outside the prison fences, looking for love in all the wrong places. This woman has a friendship with Michael long before this incident took place. She is not begging on a GoFundMe for someone to support her.

The fact you felt the need to come after LO, and degrade another woman while waving a false flag of caring and concern shows how ugly you are @SierraMist.

I love the smell of desperation in the morning. LK never counted on Michael Barisone having someone stand by him like LO and others, did she???

Here is the most important “because” of all- Because LO sees the situation like many of us here do- Michael Barisone was systematically targeted and attacked, mentally and physically, by a low life drug addict and her equally low life man servant, who thought they were going to gain something through doing this.
