This is the second time in this thread that you have referred to a “presumption of innocence”. There is no such thing in civil law - it is a feature of criminal law. Civil law in this country does not assign innocence or guilt, it assigns fault/liability.
Now, if you’re referring to Rules 403 & 404, and how they may be applied, then one of the legal eagles will have to weigh in. I wouldn’t deign to make any kind of conclusion either way given I am not a legal professional… especially without reviewing case law.
@SoCoPony, Lebanon Levi and I hail from the land of Ester’s Diner, where they ask you if you want butter on your gravy, and I mean brown gravy, not Italian gravy!
We are made of stout stuff coming from the Amishbelt!
That’s a really informative link Erinmeri. Thanks for sharing it.
I think rule 406 might apply. I can’t remember how many times total LK has been arrested for simple and aggravated assault between NJ and NC. I think it might 4 seperate incidents all culminating in arrest?
It seems like that might speak of a habitual tendency to resort to violent and aggressive behavior.
Here’s rule 406:
N.J.R.E. 406. Habit, Routine Practice
(a) Evidence, whether corroborated or not, of habit or routine practice is admissible to prove that on a specific occasion a person or organization acted in conformity with the habit or routine practice.
(b) Evidence of specific instances of conduct is admissible to prove habit or routine practice if evidence of a sufficient number of such instances is offered to support a finding of such habit or routine practice.
At last the furthest I have ever hauled to the North was the Land of Shady Maple. I like the large bags of carrots, but none of that shoo fly pie business. I have heard tails of a place called New Holland, and I am a certain it’s a bad, bad place, as my Mother reminds me when I act up, it’s every Monday and I better straighten up.
Ah, The Land of Shady Maple, a paradise in itself! Amish food oblivion! My personal opinion of shoe fly pie is that it sucks! There are much better Amish desserts to be had like whoopie pies!
My husband and I have an obsession with Good’s Store that is located in the Shady Maple complex. It has every household item in the universe to behold!
For sure testimony by several people speaking of LKs targeted terror campaigns would also qualify I think. I’d have every single person give testimony.
They will see signs of narcotic withdrawal, ask questions if family is there, and treat, usually with methadone. However, if that person is injured, they will likely give narcotics for pain first while the patient is critical, and if yhe patient needs them, until the patient can be withdrawn from analgesics, usually using methadone in the hospital. For an addict, it complicates whatever progress they had made getting off narcotics. If the patient is alert and can talk about pain meds they can request no narcotics, as my daughter has done in the hospital in the past, but the safety of the patient comes first, and in critical injury they will use narcotics first and worry about addiction later. While in the hospital they can wean someone off narcotics with methadone, but Laren wasn’t in the hospital long enough to be weaned off methadone, if she even got any of that. As for Suboxone, that would be prescribed privately. Suboxone can also be gotten off the streets like anything else.

Thinking an LLC means RG is licensed.
It may be hard, but it’s necessary. The constant back & forth gets these threads shut down, which is what they want. And it completely obscures the ACTUAL FACTS of Michael’s case, which is what we should be working to get out there.
Please, just ignore. It’s making the rest of us not want to read this thread anymore.
Coincidentally, or maybe not, Tom Hagen was just in the New York Times crossword within the last week. I came up with his name, but it took me a while. Lol.
As an aside, some of us - like me - do not want to be part of any mob. We have always been lone wolves and do not bend the knee for any mob boss. Or capo.
Because I remember from the 48 Hours episode, they mentioned LK had liked horses since she was a kid, and had ridden for years.
Honestly… she doesn’t come across that way to me. She comes across to me as someone who has gotten into it riding in their 30’s, after reaching adulthood. It’s the little details, and lack of some knowledge, that make me think this.
Does anyone know what the actual truth is? Did she ride as a kid, or just pick it up as a new hobby in her 30’s when she was still living in North Carolina?
It’s not like one is better than the other or anything… I’m just curious if the way she was portrayed on 48 hours was also fundamentally dishonest in a key way. I assume the whole background profile they aired about LK is based on information she provided to 48 Hours.
