I would love to watch it but I confess to having a strong distaste for Russell Crowe. I just can’t with with that guy. I’ll try to overcome that if the movie is quite good, though.
I read a lot of Marcus Aurelius as a youngster. I wonder if there’s a movie about just him?
Russell Crowe in Gladiator is far more palatable than Russell Crowe in other movies. I think it’s the ethics that character displays.
I am the opposite! I LOVE Russell Crowe and haven’t watched the film because of the violence. If this group says it is good, I’ll watch it before the 31st!
My fav RC film is Master & Commander, Far Side of the Earth. Of course A Beautiful Mind was amazing…3:10 to Yuma…hmmmm, I guess there aren’t many of his films I don’t like.

I had seen an interview with Hans Zimmer, who did the soundtrack for the film. He said he had chosen the Viennese waltz as the basis for his scoring of The Battle for the contradiction of civilization and savagery:
