Generally speaking, if the offense for which you are disbarred in one state could cause you to be disbarred in another, the bar associations have reciprocity and you will also be disbarred in the other licensing states.
Mine either. Especially after I caught LK and her lawyer friend talking about some of us on FB. It really wasn’t that hard to connect some of those dots. Pretty sure that friend is the lawyer that “spelled out” what locations were “legal” to record in. I’m also pretty sure that friend is behind the insurance fixation and supplied the “understanding” of M’Naghten down to some of the arguments used here.
Once MB returns to his farm in FL both the plaintiff and defendant Barisone will be domiciled in FL. If SWF of NJ leaves the case via settlement or dismissal, and RC is resolved as well (she doesn’t live in NJ either) I’m saying a motion can be filed and then a judge rules on it.
So, @Maria, do you know that “barred” and “disbarred” mean different things? Opposite things, in fact?
“Barred in NY, NJ, and Florida” means admitted to the bar and licensed to practice law in those states.
“Disbarred” means that one has lost their license to practice law in that state.
I believe that in the case of SierraMist, she is barred in NY, NJ, and California.
A common pet peeve of vacuumers is when an attorney versed in one area of law suddenly tries to practice in another but doesn’t know how to so we have to tell them what to do step by step while they’re the ones being paid big bucks.
It is times like this that you hear the vacuumer use the term “counselor” LMAO It’s the vacuumer equivalent of saying "ma’am
If your trainer shot you, could you imagine your parents rushing to the hospital to see if you survived? And providing support through the criminal trial, advising on filing a civil suit?
They sure would come to see to my care (which does remind me of the question why didn’t LK recover at her parents’ home…) but you know what they wouldn’t do? Finance my lifestyle, communicate with my trainer, find a place for me to live, and bully people on my behalf.
It’s sort of a pet peeve of mine when someone asks me about something not even remotely in my area of law and expect me to know. I mean, I know F all about many things. I’m not even going to pretend I know anything about family court in New York, for example. Or really, much to do with law in the USA in general. I might know and be able to grasp more than the average Joe, but it does irk me when people expect lawyers or other legal professionals to know about every form of law. I mean, nice compliment that you think I’m all knowing, but nope😂 I’m not about to act like I do either!
Edited to add: you should be able to trust your attorney, but they don’t know everything, especially outside of their area of practice. So just because someone is an attorney barred in x state, doesn’t mean that they’re all knowing, or well versed in whatever you’re after. Sure their input may carry more weight than your average person, but as with most things, it depends. Plus, blind trust isn’t always a good thing
But the thing is, I don’t necessarily buy the mob’s story that her parents threatened MB to force him to let her stay in the farmhouse, etc.
When things escalated extremely in late July, early August, I can imagine the parents tried to help avoid a crisis on behalf of LK but that’s again an extreme situation like the shooting itself, not like a normal training situation as @Virginia_Horse_Mom was referencing.
