Yes, I know my landlord wants me to have liability insurance. However, the insurance on my possessions protects him if they are stolen and I were to claim that the apartment was not secure. My having insurance takes some of the burden of his insurance.

Renter’s insurance does not work the way you seem to think it works. Your scenario does not make any sense.

Unfortunately many states are getting quite lax in bite and rabies laws. I have had a couple of rows with our counties health department over this. I called in the state veterinarian to argue my case once last year. And we have been flagged for sending in too many rabies submissions…head desk… especially considering what was it last year this state had a man DIE from rabies.

It comes down to DOLLARS. Often the quarantine facility gets stuck with the bill and has to write it off.

It seems NJ is pretty hard core about it under not corrupted circumstances

If Kujo should bite someone in Florida, the same laws exist there. Someone getting bit by Kujo in Florida would be in a position of having a VERY ACTIONABLE case, especially since the dog has a verified, recorded history of attacks and that dog would be a prime candidate for euthanasia.

Dog bite claims are usually paid by the liability insurance policy associated with the dwelling.

Is that asseverate statement based on your Google law degree?

Another issue of some concern is the outcry from the keyboard warriors when a dog is deemed vicious.
Or if one is euthanized when it is abandoned at the quarantine facility. It can snowball in a heartbeat. Small municipalities may not have the means to handle such attacks.
I have a wonderful AC officer to work with in my County but I do not think everyone is as lucky.
Once again most of our issues involve money and who will get stuck with the bill. Unfortunately it becomes the top billing for dog bites.

This happened to a friend of mine. She is the consummate responsible dog owner. She had her doberman in a fenced yard adjacent to the sidewalk. A neighborhood kid had been taunting the dog through the fence for months and had been asked to stop over and over again. When the dog finally bit the kid through the fence it had to be euthanized.

ETA this occurred in Florida.

I know this happens. As such I had my immediate yard fenced with defenses too solid and too high with only one way to enter from the outside. I used to catch kids running through all the time.

Kids won’t stop. You have to make them stop to protect yourself. The right fencing accomplished this.

And because it’s like this is even more reason to find those cops not obeying state law in the presence of multiple dog bite victims all the more curious.

Municipalities have devised plenty of ways to obtain fine compliance. That is no reason for not locking that dog away.

Those who know the defense filings like the back of their hands, is there any indication that SS was subpoenaed to turn over everything LK submitted to them, including the alleged KK transcription? Perhaps they have already compared that document with what they received from Schellhorn and it doesn’t match. Could be sticky for the K’s.

I’m not sure. In theory, with a pending action against him, Michael would have been within his rights to receive them from SS directly. With SS action still pending, he might not be entitled to share SS documentation in the civil litigation. It is also possible that the SS documentation has a cloud of “confidentiality” on it. The specific claims might be easily recognizable as to where they cam from, but the documents themselves, if they came from SS, might not identify a complainant.

That may be part of why there are subpoenas for Kirby Kanarek’s transcripts, in order to fully bring them into the record. And a good reason for Lauren Kanarek and Kirby Kanarek to refuse to comply, so they can lie about them or attempt to keep that out of the civil trial.

However, I can point anyone interested to the big SS thread and you can see where in the timeline that the SafeSport released things. Lauren Kanarek gets really huffy about how strict confidentiality should be maintained by SS at all times.

I thought someone said at one point that MB’s defense team had received a copy of the SS report but it was unclear if they had also received copies of the transcriptions. And if so, was it the full set of transcriptions or did SS only send some, and/or were they “as received” or did SS redact them before sending them.

I could be wrong but something titled report is probably a finding or overview of events and doesn’t necessarily contain all the elements and documentation used to make that finding and report.

I don’t know, but Mr Deininger said he had materials to show the judge in camera, but not publicly because it might prejudice something with SS in the last contempt filing.

Re: dog bite

A lot of states allow quarantine after a dog bite to occur in the owner’s home. I suspect that is what happened. If the previous bites were unreported and this was the first time a bite was on record, that is likely why Kujo was not euthanized.

Possibly, although that is not the meaning I was assigning to it, and in fact wasn’t even aware of that archaic meaning until I did some further research after I was notified by the Mods that my post had been reported and deleted.

Some folks can certainly dish it out but they can’t take it AT ALL. Such special little snowflakes…

I honestly think they see words in posts, lots and lots of words they don’t understand, then look them up and diligently search for any meaning they can scream, “Rule Violation!!!” at the top of their little keyboards.

If archaic meanings are now being scrutinized, get ready for lots of flagging. Several of us are really good at archaic words and meanings.

Perhaps we should also include the definition of words the some wouldn’t understand.
