Michael/ Lauren civil trial update February 9

THIS.

As I said before. Quarantine can be a nightmare for the quarantine providers. It is not uncommon for the dog owners to not be able to pay for the services. Then you have to follow state laws for taking ownership of dog. Or eat the costs and try to get the money later. Then it can be euthanized or rehomed depending on bite circumstances.
Also bites need to be documented and reported for them to count against the dog.

Yes, but there are rules and even home quarantine should require strict isolation from people and other animals. Even if Rosie was being quarantined, then Lauren Kanarek and RG were in violation, because Rosie should not have been able to be outside of the house and involved in the incident.

LKs dog bit RC on Aug 6, right? By Aug 7 LK was in a coma in an intensive care hospital room, having been shot with RCs gun.

Why would RC be afraid of LK?

No, I do not have a “Barbie-as-a-Saint image” of LK, or of anyone else.

I do not have a law degree, @DownYonder.

Only reason I am going to cheer for the Eagles is because Boyd Martin is at the game cheering for the Eagles…. Sigh Boyd, my hero…. Otherwise: go Patriots! I know….

The only reason I can think of is that the bragging and sabre-rattling was to make parties take a plea/settle the lawsuit. From what I’ve seen on other threads, this one and now in the pleadings, LK puts way more importance on social media than it deserves. As though this or other SM is somehow truth, rather than what it is, a chat room. She must in fact believe that fake info here impacts other people’s decision making process. It’s bizarre and fascinating.
She’s playing chicken , but if no one swerves, there’s no impact.

I’ve said before that it is as though her mind is wired in a way that makes no distinction between virtual reality and actual reality, and she perceives herself as the heroine in some fantasy drama or video game. IOW, she lives in the metaverse.

Hazarding a guess here - the township had no spine to follow their own rules OR her vaccination was recent enough/current that they took the words of the owner at face value and would let the owner quarantine the dog for 10 days (as being less hassle and expense for the county). Is Lauren the registered owner or is it someone else? Like the attorney?

Given that Rosie bit anyone else should have led to her being taken in by Animal Control for at least 10 days of observation and the cost borne by the registered owner.

That is how it would go down in my state (except Animal Control would have hauled her away the same day RC was bitten if an ambulance was summoned).

Would that be LaLaLand?

Sorry, couldn’t resist!

Why call an ambulance for a dog bite? Serious question. I’m not discounting the severity of the bite, but I would think that going to the ER would be a better use of resources than calling an ambulance crew out. RC already had witnesses if she needed any kind of documentation. Unless maybe she also fell when Nasty Rosey* bit her and was injured?

*I HATE seeing posters excuse the horrible temperament on Nasty Rosey by calling her “poor” Rosey. NOTHING about that dog’s temperament is deserving of such excuses. Training did not make her a biter, and ownership (regardless of that owner’s other failings) did not make her a biter, her awful temperament did.

Clearly you didn’t pay attention to the previous 4 - 5 months of Lauren’s behavior. Apparently you don’t recall RC having fear that Lauren would poison her horse which was why she slept in the barn aisle. Obviously you don’t recall the nasty, bullying names your darling Lauren called RC on FB. Such a sweet, innocent woman. Who on earth would be afraid of darling LK and RG?

You’ve accused RC of being a mental health professional who did nothing to help Michael but you are unconcerned about the actions RC took to protect herself and horse. You really are naive and ignorant of the events leading up to 8/7/19, but you continue your blind support, mkay?

That’s interesting, in Massachusetts, if it doesn’t break the skin, it does not rise to the level of a bite. (Or at least that’s what the vet told me.)

She may have gotten a nastier bite and as the older we get, the more friable our skin, the more easily infected. Perhaps she took a nasty fall too - so concerns she may have broken her hip?

Not something to take lightly. Particularly when doing it at the behest of the township and being escorted by one of their employees (town? County? Not certain).

I remember watching The People’s Court with Judge Wapner. One man was suing his neighbor because the neighbor’s dog bit the plaintiff’s son. The defendant told Judge Wapner the the 12 year old kept coming onto his property to torment the dog that was behind the fence. He showed the judge pictures of the arrangement. The judge looked at the pictures of the yard and fence, looked at the picture of where the child had been bitten and declared, “The only way this child was bitten by that dog was by trespassing on the property and sticking his hand through the fence.” He the looked at the father and said something to the effect of, “You should teach your son to be respectful of your neighbors, their property and their pets. I find for the defendant.”

I think I fell in love with Judge Wapner that day.

Go Hawks!! :blue_heart: :green_heart:

Her training and handling - or lack thereof - had a huuuuge influence on her being a biter. And I am not just saying that because LK was/is involved. Some owners praise “tough” behavior and reward it… so it just escalates.

To some extent, yes, but the descriptions of THIS dog sound very much like unstable temperament, not encouragement or inadvertent reinforcement of aggressive behavior, or even due to a lack of socialization.

We have a big dog who is pretty freaking tough (ACD is part of the mix and they are frequently jerks), our dog is trained to LIE DOWN when someone approaches. He is big, he has the herding dog stare and his coloration is wolf-like, so the best thing for him and us is to make him less imposing. He loves most people but he barks enthusiastically (AND LOUDLY!!) scurries about and can knock you down as he shows off his favorite toy just by circling excitedly and bumping into your legs.

“He’s almost full-grown!” is what they told us at the pound. “He won’t get much taller or heavier!”

3 inches and 35 pounds later…

sigh

Do they have to subpoena if they call and ask, and SS just sends it to them?

Maybe it was. Any sign of the dog since?

It is no longer like that. Nowadays, the kid gets a payout.

What? Someone reported that amazing word? Oh my gosh, but, it is such a cool word and fits this discussion so perfectly.
