Does anyone check out “rate my horse pro”? I’d take advantage a legit way to share my recent experience with someone that doesn’t seem gossipy like a BB can appear to be. It is $5 to sign up, which is fine, but I don’t want to waste my efforts if no one reads it.[/QUOTE]
I recently joined and used ratemyhorsepro.com when I was looking for a HB trainer for my yearling. I paid the $5 (which is returned to you if you make 5 ratings in a limited time period) and while I was on there, looked up H/J trainers I knew in my area. Most trainers are either not listed or don’t have any feedback but I was surprised to find a negative review of a trainer I’d worked with in the past.
It seems like it could be a useful tool, but apparently is being underused. One possibility for breeders and their clients to address the issues brought up by OP would be to create a listings for themselves (if professional) and rate others they have had dealings with. Then, on their websites, in signature phrases and other promo, say “Listed on ratemyhorsepro.com”. It could be a little like when you check seller’s feedback on Amazon or Ebay.
I don’t think this is a perfect solution, but it could be one way to go, when someone knows a breeder is bad news and doesn’t want to post here or other places for concern about legal or personal fallout.
BTW I have absolutely nothing to do with that site and have no idea who does.
