Looking through her pictures, NONE of the horses have a forelock. They are all cut off, straight across. I can’t see all of them but some have pulled tails that are banged very short. I don’t know anything about standardbred racing. Is this common practice?
I hope major media get involved with this. The billionaire bankroll story makes it a good subject. Something needs to be done. It’s not a question of money for keeping the horses. Quite a few organizations, including SRF, have agreed to take the horses in. The NJSPCA isn’t exactly well-known for competency. I think contacting the NJ Attorney General might get the ball rolling.

No, it isn’t. Standardbreds usually have a natural long mane, forelock, and tail. I noticed the same thing. It’s strange.
The helmet is a Standardbred racing helmet and I have no idea why she wears it all the time. I don’t think we can expect things to add up because she seems to be missing a few screws.
This is a seriously sick person.
What is with all the christmas photos cats with hats on horses with hats on, her or some of her I guess workers holing presents and pictures?
She is maiming these animals. the pictures are almost done to make it look like everyone is normal and happy.
Please God someone stop her.
After looking at waaaaay more pictures on her facebook than I should have (I feel positively farkin SICK now), it looks like she takes a picture with a heart as a thank you for every donation she receives. Things I want to know:

I wonder if she wears the helmet because she already has a plate in her head? Might explain some of the crazy, if so. Not excuse it by any means. She needs to be stopped. The one I saw with the teeth, looks like they are ground off too

It’s very interesting watching the facial expressions of the barn help change over time on her FB page.
It’s clear in a bunch of photos that the cats’ whiskers are completely trimmed off; there are occasionally stubs visible. Why would you do that to them???
I have no words for the treatment of the horses. There’s even a photo of her riding a poor crippled horse (I think it was the Hoyle one), wrapped legs and all! :no:
My first thought was “why does she need to wear the helmet when trimming the cat?”. Then I realized that if I trimmed my cat I’d likely need full body armor :lol:
But in all seriousness, this screams mental illness. I hope she and her animals get the help they obviously need. Those feet are beyond disturbing.
It was just a Holiday, and I was in cooking hell, and I kept thinking about those poor animals. I am not easily grossed out, or horrified. I am horrified!
I spent way too much time looking at her pics. There’s one that was just brutal to look at, and I don’t care to look for it again. Of all the pics of abuse, it’s her looking manic and insane that I could not look at. There’s at least one where her own finger is apparently injured. Ha! I hope it hurt. Not that would do any good, so it’s just fine that it hurt.
She is taking down their teeth to stubs too.
Okay I clicked thru what seemed like a 100 pictures. most are insane posing with her workers and all sorts of holiday stuff on the animals.
Her jackets say Monica Thors Harness Racing stables. if you keep going there are racing pics and some really good looking standard bred shots. and pics of foals.
If she is a member of the Harness Racing associaton WHY can they not step in.
This is in my area. It is incredibly sad and disturbing, and it certainly seems that this woman is dangerously mentally ill. There are plenty of people in this area who would assist with the logistics of removing the horses. I suspect New Jersey authorities are just afraid of litigation.
So, has anything changed overnight?
Evidently there is no problem with help for these horses once they are seized by the NJSPCA, but therein lies the rub–anyone know what is holding up this process? 
There are many groups willing to help–I don’t believe that is an issue, at all… Of course we all know when you have a sick horse there is never enough money, but at least they aren’t skin and bones.
Now what?
She must have had a TBI or a plate or something…must be why the helmet.
So is this is a “relatively” new event for her- this uber-trimming? It seems she has been involved in horses for years. It is all so sad and horrifying. Reminds me of binding feet that occurred in China.
I wonder if the sticking point in seizing the horses is the definition of “abuse”?
Generally when we talk about abuse, it’s starving them and not watering them and not providing care at all. It might be difficult to seize when the issue is providing too much care instead of too little.

Depends on what your idea of “new” is. There are pictures on her facebook page going back a few years with very strange cat trimming going on.
But the cheese seems to have catapulted from cracker about 2 years ago. December 2012 pictures show some really messed up hooves.
She is sporting a brand new farrier farrier apron in March 2013. Around the same time the helmet goes on and stays on. Also talks about her “film” being complete around this same time.
There are many pictures where she half-assed attempts to obstruct the view to the horses’ hooves.
Then by April 20, 2013 her brand new farrier apron is well worn and the first picture appears with a horse with this:

gumshoe, that still of the horses behind the flowers with the bunny ears is from that video. Unsure if she’s actually trying to hide the hooves…it doesn’t seem like she thinks what she’s doing is wrong in the least. Maybe one of her workers set up the flowers.

There are many other pictures where she puts the horses hooves behind various things. These pictures seem to be taken prior to them being all bandaged up and looking like they have keg shoes under there.
