Fat little tummies!!! So cute!
Francie the cat is telling me NO! to anymore kittens. She still hasn’t quite forgiven me for Gladys and that was 5 years ago.
They’re 3 weeks now! I’m monitoring one closely for an eye infection, but they’re growing and happy!
Oh…what sweet babes…
Tickle those little bellies!
I do!
I am so happy I can get my kitten fix from all these cute pics.
Well, a friend will babysit them on Sunday so I can go out of town for a few hours. She’s super excited. Her husband is my department chair, and he loves cats, but is afraid my friend will want to keep them.
So cute
I just want to kiss that little tummy! Too cute!!!
I want to boop those little noses!
EEP!!! So cute!
Well, the one will possibly need to have the one eye removed at some point. It never did open, and I noticed it was swelling up. An abscess ruptured a couple of days ago, and the kitten has been on eye drops since. The eye finally opened today, but it’s clearly not viable anymore. I feel awful. I’ve never had this happen with a bottle kitten before.
But, the kitten seems happy and is playful and eating well. I want to take them to the vet tomorrow for a check up, and let the vet take a look at that eye.
Oh, shucks. But, once the infection gets taken care of, I bet it never bothers him. He won’t know he’s supposed to have two. And, you’ve got his name, Pirate
Oh…poor nugget. However, I bet you that you are more attached to that eye than he is. (A favorite line from a vet friend of mine)
We look forward to their vet report (fat and happy I assume!)
Pirate, Noodle, and Chunk. Well, at least they’re not named after any characters in a TV show or a Broadway musical!
You are an awesome cat caretaker! Thank you for looking after these little babies!
Oh poor little critter! But if he is happy and playful I bet he will never miss that eye at all.
How are the little ones doing today?
They’re good - they had a long morning at the vet (We were #24 of 25 in line; Saturday is walk-in day at the clinic) and the vet thinks the eye still could have infection in the globe, so she wants me to watch it carefully and continue with the regular wiping and eye drops. The vet thinks the eye may have had some congenital defect, since it never opened and developed the infection anyway.
Vet agrees the eye will need to be removed at some point, but obviously, not at 3 weeks. The hope is to get her through until she’s at least 6-7 weeks before we need to do that.
