More. Kittens. OMG

I had a larger bowl when Mom was with them, but I was peeking in on them with the kitten cam and saw Panda standing in the dish to eat so we downsized dishes.

They crack me up when they do that then there’s the little foody footprints everywhere. Babies be silly.

Well, Tuffy decided to bring her kittens back here. Two were on the porch tonight. They’re a bit too young to wean, but given the choice between weaning them now or letting them end up under a car, eaten by a raccoon, or staying feral and producing more kittens one day, I chose to put them in a large crate. Only 2 of the 4 are here, so I’m not sure if the others are hiding, still at the neighbors, or no longer alive.

Oh. Yay. More kittens. They seem to know who to go to, right?

Any possibility of trapping her?

I think so. She’s getting tame enough that I think I can get her into a crate now - but it will be a one-shot deal. And I need to make sure she’s not still taking care of the other two before I do anything with her.

UPDATE: the other two kittens are here! I saw them on the porch just a bit ago, but I couldn’t catch them before they disappeared into the bushes on the side of the house. If I can get them caught, they can all move into the big crate I bought for this purpose five weeks ago!

Great news! (not that you needed more kittens)

How big are they? Obviously old enough to be quick and not so wobbly anymore.

If my calculations are correct they should be five weeks, give or take.

Pictures of the little miscreants when you nab them!

How are the little heathens doing?

The four outside have so far evaded all attempts at capture. The three I’m raising - well, you tell me. (top to bottom - Mulligan, Schuyler, and Noodle.)

Is the middle kitten the one that may get the eye removed? It looks rather blurry.

I love how the ears are all so huge - mousers for sure!

Yes. It was doing a lot better, but I just noticed yesterday that the entire socket is starting to look puffy. And he’s still on the eye drops. So I’m probably going to have to take him back to the vet.

Poor little thing!

Vet update on Schuyler - the eye is definitely worse than the last time the vet saw him. No ulcer, but an abscess on the back of the head is probably related to the eye. We’re going to put him on antibiotics and try to make it to 6 weeks before removing it, but there’s clearly infection behind the eye.

Poor little guy. I fostered a kitten that had to have an eye removed. it got so bad they had to do it before she got to the weight they wanted.

I hope little Schuyler makes it with no complications to 6 weeks. Give him a kiss on his little head from me. I’d say Snickers too but she would just send hisses.
